Extremely professional! The best!

Horrible customer service. Refused to provide a consultation because I have not been living in Portland for 6 months.

I was fortunate enough to be able to work with Heidi Sherman @ Jill Brittle Law. During our legal process, which is extremely emotional and scary, Heidi Sherman guided me through and provided much needed light and love. The team @ Jill Brittle were very attentive and supportive throughout. I was able to count on them being there for me and my many questions and thoughts. So much goes into this legal stuff that it helps to have a team that has done this work many times. 100% I was able to breathe and trust the process was going to be fair. Heidi was beyond helpful, direct when needed and .... a true, real , mentor. Thank you Heidi Sherman and Thank you to the team at Jill Brittle Law.....True professionals!!

In every way Heidi was excellent: sharp as a tack, prompt responses and work, communicated clearly and always looking out for my best interests. While opposing counsel would take weeks to months to get the smallest thing done, Heidi would always get things done promptly. The difference was night and day. Thank you Heidi for making my divorce just a little but less horrible :)

I absolutely cannot recommend Heidi Sherman highly enough as a divorce attorney. Though I was told early on she was beyond extremely competent in court, in retrospect what my particular case called for was definitely not a court battle that could have largely involved minutiae I think would have driven many judges crazy. Rather what was ultimately needed was patience, measured diplomacy, and above all maintaining focus, respect, and integrity in response to what sometimes seemed like egregious actions and delaying tactics from a clearly overworked, understaffed opposing attorney. Heidi is an extremely experienced family lawyer and I believe this turned out to be crucial in my case. When faced with correspondence anyone would consider out of left field from the opposing party, knowing each time how measured our response needed to be seemed second nature to her. Ultimately the divorce terms were agreed to by everyone without the mudslinging and craziness that could have at times very easily transpired - this is the best outcome anyone going through these painful times could ask for.

I went to court with my daughter and this woman was so nervous and unprofessional.... she was stumbling over her own feet and was so tongue twisted it was hilarious. She stated some new law from the dept of law, then when. She called for a break, the judge questioned what she said and checked it out. When they came. Ack into the courtroom, judge called her on it and she was dumbfounded. She looked like an idiot! Don't hire her.

I am not at all satisfied with the lack of timely response from Chasta Pyle. The wasted time cost me far more money and arrangements for my parenting situation than it was worth in this industry of law. I feel very underserved by the lack of proactive, professional representation. There seems to be a lack of experience, and/or a lack of concern, and likely over-booking herself which led to very poor service. It was noted in the initial information exchanges that the service I require, would need effective action to counter the opposing party in this matter. Better Disclosure of limitations and improved communication would have been of great benefit. I realize I am not knowledgeable on the legal requirements in these matters, and had to rely on the training and experience available at Brittle Law. When presenting issues in the response needed, I was met with excuses at each event deadline missed. I requested other representation during my business with Jill Brittle family law because I was receiving zero response from Chasta on time sensitive requirements. I should have been advised to file an update to the parenting plan with the court as soon as the opposing party deviated from the parenting schedule without agreement, knowing it to be a friction point. I should have been advised to contest the court order put in place in response to it’s being put in place. Instead my parenting time has continually and repeatedly been minimized. I have since learned of my 2 young children reporting guns, hand guns and semi-automatic, in the house, with a “tattoo business” with 3-5 strangers per day entering the family residence without knocking or warning, traveling up to the “tattoo bedroom” next to my sons un-lockable bedroom. My 8 year old son has reported arguing (with guns present in the room) in the “tattoo bedroom”, which always has the music turned up loud when “customers” are there. Other concerns were also presented for his sister’s safety, which have continued to go unrecognized by their mother. These are risks I was trying to mitigate by having a functional agreement in place. Now I have an opposing party with the favor of the legal system along with raised risk levels for my children. That is the service I must now pay Brittle Law to provide. Sincerely James Early

I hired a large family law firm to modify my existing parenting plan to address concerns about safety. I was willing to pay higher fees to get the benefit of their combined experience with situations like mine but, more importantly, I needed to quickly address the current concerns and avoid future litigation. 4 months later I left that firm in tears, without my $5,000 retainer, completely confused about the status of my case and with no clear plan forward. I will be forever grateful to Jill and her staff for taking my frantic call, listening to my experience, and meeting with me the next day. Jill came into our first meeting with her laptop (and a box of tissues) and listened. By the time our meeting ended Jill had nailed down the status of my case, taken immediate action to make progress with the court, and recommended a resource that the other firm had never offered. For the first time, I felt like I had a team behind me and a plan for how to move forward. The journey with has not been without challenges though. I am up against an attorney whose bio says she, “prepares for every case as if it were going to trial” in other words… refuses to compromise to run up the legal fees until the other party runs out of money and must settle. On top of that, Covid-19 has repeatedly delayed our trial dates. Even so, I am confident that my case is progressing as well as it could, and I am getting updated as soon as she is. Jill has always left it to me make the decision to go forward or stop and understood that her fees are part of the decision. I had 4 months of invoices from the large law firm to compare to the billings from Jill. The first thing I noticed was that Jill relies on her staff to do the work that doesn’t require her expertise. That way of delegating dramatically cut the total in half without compromising the speed or quality of the work. The invoices are easy to understand and I’ve never questioned an item... which is critically important in my case because it's been delayed so many times. I hope I never need to use Jill or her staff again but, if I do, I’m certain they can make the best of it. They are also a super fun group, and everybody needs more of that. Sincerely, Monika S.

Heidi Sherman at Jill Brittle Family Law came highly recommended during a rapidly escalating family law case. At first I was uncertain as to whether or not Heidi was the right attorney for me. She made no promises of destroying the opposition as other attorneys had, and hardly seemed as incensed as I was at the grievances I expressed to her regarding the opposition's case handling skills. However, as things progressed it became more and more clear that in something as highly emotional as a family law case, the last thing I needed was an attorney who was as angry and emotional as I was. What was received instead was a listening ear, a view of the larger picture, suggestions for positive motion, clear communication and sure guidance through what, in retrospect, was the most terrifying time of my life! My family law case is two months settled and thanks to Heidi it seems like ages ago. There is no more conflict with the opposition, no more sleepless nights, no more worry, no more fear. Now there are just two parents communicating civilly and a little kid who is happier than ever. At every point communication between Heidi, the Office and myself was prompt, clear and human. It took a lot of stress out of a very tense situation. So if it's gas for the fire you're looking for, there are plenty of other firms that will be happy to send you invoices.
