During a mortgage transaction I had a client whose “do-it-yourself divorce” omitted an essential component of the property and debt allocation. Being familiar with Mr. Margolin and Ms. Tanabe through previous transactions, I referred my client to them. In the realm of family/real estate law, this was a very minor case—one that many attorneys would have not taken. Understanding the importance of the issue to my client and his ability to purchase a home already under contract, Dan and Kaori not only took on the job, but gave it a high priority and completed the legal matter in record time, allowing my client to successfully purchase a home. I would highly recommend both Mr. Margolin and Ms. Tanabe—they not only have a thorough and professional approach, but more importantly, a deep consideration for what is most important to their clients.

Kaori helped me through what should have been an amicable divorce, which turned unpleasant because of the ex's attorney. Kaori had a clear strategy, knew what family law and the Multnomah County courts were likely to do, and kept me from climbing the walls while things dragged out. She preserved my financial future too; I think she got me a good settlement, I still have joint custody of my kids, and she was instrumental in keeping the case out of court (not for lack of trying on the ex's attorney's part). Kaori is capable, clever, and efficient.

Kaori Tanabe is a consumate professional. I was going through a potentially complicated divorce, and Kaori was able to help me negotiate a settlement that I was very pleased with. She was very responsive, and was always able to respond to my questions or concerns. As well, she did an excellent job presenting the benefits and risks of various strategies, enabling me to make an informed decision about my own case. When I first met Kaori I was extremely upset at my situation, I had a hard time dealing with everything. I even found myself emptying boxes of her Kleenex. Well, she said the right things to motivate me, keep me up in this, and after everything has been finished......I can not believe what she has done for me! My friends and I are amazed at what she knew to fight for me when my thoughts were masked by my emotions.....moreover she is an honest to god good person. Anyone would be lucky to have her as a representative.
