Ron Sayer from the Gatti Law Firm was my attorney, and I had 4 meetings with him total: one of those online, one initial consultation, and two other in-person over the course of 1.5. years. He just dropped me as a client on September 6, 2023, because I did not maintain personal or phone contact with him, although I dropped off documentation for him to his legal assistant on many occasions in person and through email. It was my assumption to wait for him to contact me, knowing how busy many attorneys are and thinking that my case was small in comparison to other cases. I did maintain contact with his legal assistant. But I still thought the matter was being taken care of, and that he was working with the other driver's insurance company, which takes time. He stated in his letter dropping my daughter and I as his clients, that even though the other driver was at fault, Mr. Sayer decided that our "lack of communication and the fact that there were time gaps in my treatment," didn't merit the completion of my case. We also didn't agree on how to pursue my case. He wanted to settle for "what he could get." My small truck was hit from behind while the other driver was not paying attention to the fact that traffic had stopped on Commercial Street near Trader Joe's. He was traveling close to the speed limit, a second or two before hitting the brakes and impacting my vehicle, which then pushed me into the car in front of me. My vehicle's damage was about $6,500, more than the value of my vehicle. I did negotiate with Farmers to pay the entire repair bill as I could not afford to replace it for what they were offering me. During my initial treatment with a chiropractor at Natural Physicians on Liberty, it was recommended that I contact Mr. Sayer, and his business card was presented to me. Until that time, I had only been in touch with Farmers Insurance, who represented the other driver. To date, Farmers has refused to pay any of my medical bills. After only a few chiropractic treatments, Natural Physicians also dropped us because I only had liability insurance and not full coverage on my 2007 vehicle, which means that my own insurance, State Farm, would not cover me either. Now that my daughter and I have been dropped by Mr. Sayer, I have some recommendations: Get your medical treatments quickly, because apparently, there was too much time that passed between my medical treatments. Make sure you have full-coverage auto insurance as well as adequate medical coverage for yourself and family. Document everything. If you are already disabled, please, not only document your injuries, but make sure you have doctors', physical therapists', and imaging records to support your claim of those injuries from the accident. Farmers has refuted my injuries from the accident due to my pre-existing conditions at the time of the accident. Finally, stay in touch with Mr. Sayer and his legal assistant. Do not wait for him to contact you, as I did, but be proactive. I am an extremely shy, reclusive and anxious person who left everything up to Mr Sayer--not a winning strategy. On the positive side, Mr. Sayer seems to be a nice, friendly, and down-to-earth type of guy, but I really needed someone to fight harder for me, even though I didn't fight enough for myself. I've learned that the issue is not about what is true, right or fair, but about who has the better story and strategy. Dropping me as a client this late with only 5 months to go on my claim, has really devastated me, but maybe your experience will be much better than mine if you are prepared. These insurance companies are brutal and unfair, so it's imperative you have the right legal firm and attorney to represent and fight for you. Good luck!
