This was a very positive experience for difficult circumstances. Their use of simple questionnaires to gather the necessary information made it very easy to pull together all necessary documentation in an efficient manner. They answered all my questions, provided support for the unknown, and helped in preparation for the hearing in such a way as it was not undaunting. I highly recommend their services.

Michael was so kind and helpful even though he wasn't my attorney. My attorney retired and I needed copies of court documents from over 3 years ago, and Michael found the documents I needed in the Court's archive system and sent them to me. I have not personally done business with Salem Law. But I highly recommend Michael Shurtleff. Here's how I met him. A few years ago, I rented to a couple who had a lot of trouble with a bank foreclosure on their house. They were looking for a clean start, and needed to find a place to rent and move into. I investigated their situation, and spoke with their attorney, Michael Shurtleff. My prospective tenants had completed a loan modification and were making required payments on time. The bank was automatically deducting the payments from their account. All seemed well. After many months of payments being deducted from their account, the bank began the foreclosure process due to non-payment. When contacted, the bank said they had no record of the loan modification or the payments they had deducted from their account by auto pay / ACH. My prospective tenants provided documentation proving the loan modification and payments made. The bank then sold the home loan to another bank. The new bank had no record of the loan mod or payments made, and began foreclosure proceedings. Prospective tenants again provided documentation of loan mod and payments. Their loan was sold 7 times within a few years. Each bank bought their loan in a package of non-performing loans with no documentation of the loan mod or payments. Each time the loan was sold, my prospective tenants provided documentation of the executed loan mod and payments. It was a terrible cycle. My prospective tenants then engaged the legal representation of Salem Law, and Michael Shurtleff. Mr Shurtleff was able to negotiate cash for keys for a substantial amount. They were very borderline about meeting my rental criteria. I rented to them with a significant refundable deposit, provided by their settlement, and they worked out fine as tenants. This helped them get a new place to live and the fresh start they needed. Since then, I have met with Mr. Shurtleff and emailed with him a few times. If I had need of an attorney for bankruptcy or dealing with a bank related to foreclosure, I'd engage his services. I have referred people to him a few times because I know he honestly cares about his clients. I recommend him highly for these areas.
