I contacted Henry Rau regarding my mother's will (prepared by Henry) because I was the power of attorney and needed to ask some questions. One of my siblings was coercing my mother for money, and I needed guidance. The lawyer returned my call over a week later and claimed I was not the power of attorney, stating that someone else was listed. He also informed me that my mother had amended her will and now had only one child instead of three. Needless to say, I was shocked by this information. It turned out Henry was reading the wrong will. He never apologized and instead blamed me, claiming he didn’t have my mother’s name—despite the fact that I had surely provided it in my message. The excuse made no sense, especially since he had called me back specifically about my mother. After causing significant turmoil in my family, it became clear that he had been reading my will, not my mother’s. Throughout the ordeal, Henry took no accountability for his mistake, never apologized, and instead shifted the blame onto me while boasting about the number of cases he’s handled over the years. I deeply regret giving this attorney my business. His incompetence and arrogance are glaring.

I do not feel good about writing this, but after significant consideration I found it to be important for me to share my experience: if you are looking for an attorney to waste time, sabotage your case, bail on you right before trial, and literally take your money without your consent, look no further. This was my nightmare experience for over a year working with Henry Rau.

I used this firm to make a Living Trust. Henry is one of the best Attorneys i worked with. He is very detail oriented and the best part is he explain every questions very well. He make sure that you understand every line in trust document. He is very prompt in his communication. Over all it was a great experience and I would recommend him.

We recently retained Rau Law to help navigate the purchase of a primary home. While an attorney is not generally required for residential real estate transactions in OR, we decided it would be better to have an attorney on our side based on previous experience. This proved to be one of the best decisions we made, as we ran into a few issues in the purchase process that Henry was able to quickly resolve. First, we had a set of very specific contingencies we wanted to be included as a part of the purchase contract and associated addendums. Henry set up several meetings with us to listen and understand our concerns. He then ensured that the terms of our purchase contract would specifically address our contingency concerns. Ultimately, this provided us with a large amount of leverage to get the seller to satisfy the contingency expediently. Next, we ran into issues with getting property records from title. Before putting our life-savings into a property, we wanted to know as much about it and its history as possible. The house had an old oil tank and an old septic tank that were supposedly decommissioned; however, the title company could not produce anything. Henry was able to identify the company who did the oil tank removal, and with his help, we got full details of the environmental contamination and associated remediation that occurred. He was also able to get records of the septic tank decommissioning that title was unable to acquire. Thanks to Henry's efforts, all of our property questions were answered, and all due diligence was done. Finally, we ran into an issue with title paperwork which caused a closing delay. During this time, the seller and/or their agent made a threat to break contract and refuse to honor a delayed closing. Henry was able to quickly remind the seller's agent of the legal ramifications of doing so, which ultimately resulted in the expedient signing of the extension and subsequent transaction closure. Ultimately, it was Henry's assistance and effort that made us comfortable enough to go through with our purchase. He is quick to take action and thoroughly communicated everything to us throughout the process. I will definitely retain his services in the future for any and all real estate or similar contract matter. Henry Rau helped my husband and I figure out what we needed by way of wills, medical directives, etc. He saved us a lot of money by steering us away from what we didn't need, and then did the job we needed at a very reasonable price. Later when I ran into trouble with my mother's estate, Henry was so incredibly helpful. He gave me practical steps to take and what to watch out for. This made what might have been a painful, expensive process so much simpler and straight-forward. In the end, there is no substitute for having an attorney I can really trust.

I was very unimpressed with my interaction with Henry. I had a phone call with him and then followed-up in email. After emailing him he did not respond for 5 days. Then I follow-ed up and it took 2 more business days to respond and he put the action back on me. We can chalk that up to a miscommunication at best but even then he didn't deliver anything and it was time sensitive which I prepped him on our initial call. In the end I called another attorney and he also recommended I find someone else asserting that I wasn't sensitive to the timely response. That would have been true if I had emailed him only that day versus 9-days prior when he committed to talking with his peer attorney. I am not a fan of people who don't follow-up and or try and redirect the blame instead of assuming responsibility.

I've been wanting to have my family trust written for YEARS and one of the hiccups was that I didn't know a good attorney. I'm so glad I found PDX Legal Solutions. Henry is very easy going and takes the time to explain everything very simply. I thought I only needed a family trust but he explained why I also needed a will.
