Evan’s specialization, method, and knowledge in DUI make his firm your best asset. I hired the Levow firm for two DUI’s that occurred months from each other. The first incident had charges of DUI, refusal, speeding and reckless against a prosecutor known to be the toughest in the county. Thanks to Evan’s negotiating, all charges were dismissed for a refusal charge. The second incident had DUI, speeding, reckless, and CDS charges. All charges were dismissed for a plea to reckless driving. After the second DUI, Evan offered substance abuse resources, yet Evan always defended with zero judgment. If you or someone you love is in need of representation, hire Evan and trust his process.

Evan saved my life!!! He fought for almost 2 years before my case was resolved! Another firm would have given up or lost, but Evan kept battling for me when I'm positive a lesser lawyer would have thrown in the towel. I believe I was reading a review on this very website when I noticed a reviewer called Evan a GOAT (Greatest of All Time) and that very review was what made me decide to hire Evan, the golden needle in the haystack that is the slew of NJ DUI lawyers. So thank you to the guy who left that review, I can now confirm that Evan is indeed the GOAT!!!! Please do yourself a favor and hire his firm if you are in need of this kind of service.

Evan truly is the best at what he does! I was faced with my second DWI in Hoboken that lasted 11 months of going in and out of court. Evan and his staff communicated with me the whole way through which made things alot easier for me. We were forced to go to trial on this case. At trial watching Evan work was like watching a movie. I gave him the name "The Goat" even before the verdict. I was truly pleased with his services so guilty or not guilty I knew my money did not go to waste. End result Not Guily! Dismissal of all tickets. Evan shined light to a dark place in my life. I am forever grateful and thankful of his services and would recommend him to anyone. If no one can do it "The Goat" can!

The best technical defense attorney in NJ that you're likely to find. He'll make the State prove beyond any reasonable doubt that a crime actually occurred. He comes with a formidable arsenal of discovery tools that make most Prosecutors wither. If you are facing a supposed DUI charge, this is the man to have by your side! If you have any doubts, look up his case work at the NJ Supreme Court level. Three wins against State methods and procedures that he proved to be violations of citizens' rights. Anything that violated your rights during an alleged DUI case can be grounds for dismissal. The only DUI defense attorney you should be speaking with. Period.

As a small business owner not familiar with contracts, employment law, and intellectual property issues, Julie has provided me a great deal of guidance and security. She took the time to understand our industry and our business' unique needs. A real asset in taking my business to the next level.

I was recently in search of an attorney to review an employment related agreement and Julie Kinkopf came to me very highly recommended by a business associate. During our discussions she was very helpful in explaining the agreement to me. Her attention to detail and experience made it very easy to discuss the agreement. I would highly recommend Julie and will not hesitate to call her should I need help in the future.

Amazing customer service! When you need help these are the people you want on your side. Starting with the very first phone call, the first person I spoke with was compassionate and understanding and immediately responded and directed my call to the appropriate attorney. Attorney Miller and his paralegal Lexi Davis went above and beyond. They are willing to do whatever it takes to insure you feel comfortable with the process and they explain and keep you informed the entire time. If you want an Attorney that will really be there for you, I am telling you CALL David Miller at O'Connor Law! Or any of the attorneys there...Because they REALLY CARE!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
