David was extremely effective in understanding my case, and getting me the best possible outcome. After initially having a long standing firm attempt to handle my case, I could see from the start that they had little knowledge of current law and proceedings or DUI cases. The minute I sought David's advice, I felt completely comfortable that he knew what he was doing, and had 100% confidence in him He made everything so easy for me, was extremely fair, and very responsive. The outcome was above and beyond anything that I had anticipated. Please don't waste your time, money, or freedom on someone who claims to be a DUI attorney. Go straight to the best! Thanks again David!

Mr. David Mckenzie is the person you want on your side when you are in a bad situation. I consulted him when i was going thru a lot of stress regarding my case. He is not greedy like some other lawyers i came across when i was actually looking to consult/ hire. He listens and understands what the other person is going thru and immediately goes to work and tells you what you should do and what his next step is going to be. He will not scare you and then will ask you to retain his services first before he even gives the right entity a call on your behalf to really understand the situation. My interaction with Mr. David Mckenzie has nothing but pleasant. He got us the outcome we were hoping for. He is a compassionate and kind man who is extremely responsive. Like I said the best lawyer there is. Thank you Mr. David Mckenzie for being such an awesome lawyer and person.

David is a top notch attorney servicing Montgomery County, PA. I hired David based on the fantastic reviews on this site and in my opinion he lives up to each and every one of them. I always knew where I stood with David and he would keep me informed of the worst case scenario while fighting for the best possible outcome. What set Mr. McKenzie apart from the rest of the pack is that he simply exudes confidence and has an estimable presence when he enters the courtroom. It was easy to see how well liked and respected David is among his peers, including prosecutors, judges and law enforcement. David worked very hard on my case and was able to produce the most favorable result I could of hoped for. What impressed me most about David was how quickly he responded to every text I sent him. He would respond within minutes or inform me that he couldn't reply due to court, but always got back with a thorough answer to my inquiries. I highly recommend David, who is an excellent attorney and a great guy.

At one of the tougher moments in my life, I was referred to Boyd and Early by another highly respected firm. Within minutes of an initial sit down, their professionalism, competency and compassion shone through. I felt they cared about me and my case as much as I did. I wasn't just another case number. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Missy is the absolute best at what she does! I hired Missy after my custody and child support proceedings had already started and she got me out of a hole that my previous attorney got me in. She truly cares about her clients, but she cares about the children involved even more! The kids are ALWAYS first! I could go on and on about how great she is! If you’re on the fence for hiring her, just do it you will not be sorry. 5 stars just isn’t enough!

Liz Early and Missy Boyd are amazing to work with. They care about getting the best results possible. Liz was my main lawyer and was extremely helpful. She was great at coaching, establishing boundaries with the opposing lawyer, listening, and returning phone calls promptly. She was exceptionally efficient, competent, and always accurately advised me on the best course of action. I tried two other lawyers before I met Missy and Liz, and I can't say enough how having a great lawyer like Liz makes a massive difference in the results, as well as preserving mental health throughout the process. I trusted her completely, and it made all the difference. In addition, everyone in the office treats you with respect and dignity, and you can feel a positive vibe when you call or visit the office. They all have strong integrity, always have the children’s best interest at heart, and work together as a team. I knew I had the best eyes on my case. They are worth every single penny. I cannot recommend Missy and Liz highly enough!!

Bringing a personal injury suit is arduous and extremely stressful. I had no concept of this four years ago when I was struck from behind by a young man who was texting. It would be one of the most intense experiences of my life. What complicated my case was that I had pre existing conditions that would end up getting lumped into my current long term injury. I had limited tort which surprisingly made it so that 2 firms I spoke with wouldn’t even take my case. A friend had recommended Bryan Hanratty to me. The minute I met him I had complete faith in him. One of the things I liked best about him was his compassion for the agony I was in and the way it has affected my life and the lives of my family. I am no longer the helpful creative force of nature I was 4 years ago. My family could depend on me for just about anything. Bryan took that part very seriously. He understood the personal aspect of a personal injury. Bryan gave me the courage to go the distance for a long drawn out claim including several stressful depositions and ultimately arbitration. By the time we got to arbitration I was convinced I would lose the case and have to live with the ongoing daily excruciating pain because someone wasn’t looking while driving. Yes, accidents happen, but an accident can ruin someone’s life. I’m a natural born surrenderer. I loathe conflict and stress. It’s easy for me to run the other way. Every time I told Bryan I felt discouraged he would tell me not to worry. He ultimately won the claim for me. He tells me we did it together but I know for a fact it was him. There’s a warrior in him even though he comes off like a guy you would want for your neighbor. If you need someone for any kind of personal injury, I would say first, it will be tough. And there won’t be anyone more capable and professional and encouraging than him. I give him 10 out of ten stars.               ◦

I want to take the time to thank the Ostroff Law team specifically James DiMarco and Lisa Ambrose for all of the hard work and dedication that they put into my case. Although I had limited tort they had stated from the start that it would be an uphill battle. However, they still treated the case as if it were like any other and they still were able to get results where other forms were doubtful and even passed on the case. Might I add that they are very professional and timely. They updated me every step of the way with my case. Their actions helped make a bad situation easier to deal with and I am grateful that I was able to utilize their services!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Blue Bell, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
