I have used Mr. Mannix on countless occasions to review contracts pertaining to work, corporate buy outs, employment agreements, building contracts and litigation. Each time, I am reminded of how much attention is given to the smallest detail. And how much he can think outside of the box. His vast litigation trial experience and knowledge of law is clearly evident when he discusses your case. I would hate to be deposed by him because he can cleverly put you at a disadvantage. As my lawyer, I know that he has spent time thinking of all angles of the contract that could adversely affect me. At the same time, he is reasonable and pragmatic on outcomes and will be quick to steer you on the right path. I feel fortunate to have found someone whom I can turn to, who is not unreasonable in his fee structure and who, as a person, injects humor into the professional relationship making you comfortable in an environment of law and litigation that most people are fearful of. He will have your back, most assuredly.

Christopher Mannix is an amazingly focused lawyer. You quickly realize that he thinks 10 steps ahead of you while he weighs the merits of many angles of the case that you are unlikely to have considered. Christopher is very meticulous in his work and wanted to hear all the details from each occupant in the car as he prepared to defend us from an extremely expensive ticket issued by a camera on Hwy 287 in the District of Columbia. He examined every aspect of the charges in great detail, and I believe his extensive preparation and experience was so overwhelmingly apparent that my case was dismissed! Very lucky to have him on my side!

Christopher Mannix is the worst attorney you could have. He has a habit of disappearing for weeks, even months when you need him the most. After continuous unsuccessful attempts to contact Mr. Mannix, I wanted to fire him, however he made a written promise to respond withing 48 hrs. After three weeks he went back to his old behavior. He did not meet any deadlines given by court. Mr. Mannix has not responded back to any phone calls, emails etc.. He took the money and disappeared, dropped the case and did not respond even to the correspondence from the court. I have suffered consequences from it and had to hire another attorney. Mr Mannix did not even surrender my files and made it very difficult for another attorney to untangle the case without missing documents. Unless you are looking to add another problem to your case, stay away from this attorney.

Horrible lawyer!! Had no problem taking the cash upfront, never kept me informed of what was going on. I basically had to tell him what to use and what would be good in the hearing. He didn't even know the outcome of the case, I had to tell him what was said and his response was, "Wow I'm surprised." Afterwards he refused to answer my calls, texts, and emails. Deffinitely did not expect this behavior from an attorney.

After reading so many great reviews, I reached out to Mr. DeLiberty to set up an appointment. My daughter is navigating a challenging situation and we weren't quite sure how to proceed. Mr. DeLiberty returned my call quickly and was extremely helpful. We discussed the specifics of the situation; he walked me through several courses of action. I never expected to get some much information and so much of his time without payment! I am truly grateful. If legal action is required, I will be reaching back out to Mr. DeLiberty.

Recognizing that my debt was growing for a number of reasons I was left to deal and seek out solutions. I began receiving threats of lawsuits which left me lost and alone not knowing which direction to go. Talking to lawyers who were more concerned about their cut left me more confused than one could imagine. At what I thought to be my wits end, I spoke to Dan who reviewed my case and within minutes was able to give me concrete suggestions and a plan of action. I felt comfortable talking to him and realized that he gave me hope and really cared about my situation. Thanks to Mr Dan my respect for the debit system worked to my benefit. I am very thankful to Mr Dan’s suggestions and ability to help me to relax during this time. His words of wisdom were very beneficial that I saw resolve within time. I’m glad to have given Mr Dan’s firm a chance and I’m truly lucky to have found him willing to help me.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Broomall, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
