Vouga offered to take my case. I was then subjected to continued innapropriate advances by Vouga. He made legal decisions that were not in my best interest. Vouga violated my confidentiality, which resulted in me recieving hateful, abusive, and threatening messages. When I emailed Vouga regarding my concern, he threatened me.

Victor Vouga is a fantastic lawyer. He worked with us a few years ago on a custody case for my daughter. My sister passed away and we sought to keep her daughter. We were unfairly being persued by other family. We had no recourse...no idea how to fight. From the first time we met Attorney Vouga...we felt for the first time security. Victor let my family and I know that the bullying we were experiencing would stop. He protected my very young family from years of abuse. We never had to linger and wonder what was going on. Victor kept us well informed of the process and guided us through it all. He was precise, deliberate, and decisive. We were able to successfully keep my daughter because of Victor. She is now 17 and graduating in 2021 from high school with high honors. We owe a debt of gratitude to Attorney Vouga for his intellectual acuteness and unfailing compassion.

Let me begin by saying it took 8 months to get a proposed agreement for my divorce during this time there was no return of emails, text messages and phone calls. I then had an emergency custody petition at motions court which i found out the day of and had to go represent myself because he could not attend due to an appointment. He then tried to get me to agree to a nominal amount in settlement which i declined. Once my divorce was over there was an order for my QDRO draft to be completed within a couple of months and Attorney Vouga took 6-7 momths. If you looking for minimal to no communication, excuses, long delays and lots of attorney fees, Attorney Vouga is your man.

I was able to obtain services for both divorce and custody, we were able to meet in a timely manner, late hours were also available if I needed them. Victor listened to what I wanted, gave suggestions and then acted, we worked together, he didn't just laugh it off and fought for me. This attorney has a true sense of compassion for his clients. If there was something I was unsure of helped me understand. He fought to protect me and my child. He didn't cave when conunter offers were presented, he stood his ground and protected the interest of myself (his client). He helped me complete the proper forms that needed submitted and checked my work. Vic was very supportive during a difficult time. He stood beside me during hearings and always kept me informed, nothing was withheld. Very prompt in answering emails, phone calls or text. Worked with me to help reduce financial burden and we set up payment options. I will continue to retain Victor Vouga in he event his services are needed. I feel confident if a legal matter would arise, Vic would get results. Again, very please with the representation provided, I reccomend Victor

Zach has had my back from the beginning with multiple things but most importantly custody and helping me navigate what to do when I’ve felt hopeless. He worked with me and my son’s father and lawyer to come up with the best possible scenario for my son. I can’t recommend Zach enough to people. The amount of time and work he has put into my case is insane, and I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Zach cares about me and Brody. I was going through a dark time and needed family law advice. He met with me right away, explained the process without using legalese, and worked with my ex to save us money. I highly recommend Coblentz Law Firm to anyone that needs legal advice!

Raymond J. Conlon took my case when others probably would not have. He is consistent handling the case to a successful result. He amazed me of the final outcome and went beyond my expectation of what I would have expected to receive. He explained things to a level I understood and had a great deal of patience when dealing with an upset client. His staff was kind and helpful to me in several occasions.

From my initial contact with Mr. Conlon and Mr. Tarker and throughout my litigation process I was treated with professional confidentiality. They obtained a substantial settlement on my behalf that in my opinion was due to the diligent work of the experienced attorneys and their helpful and friendly secretaries.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Butler, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
