I retained Jill’s services in 2016 after my ex forced my son and I out of the house. Jill has been fighting for my son and I ever since. During the divorce Jill was able to find pin holes in the documents from opposing counsel that could have been detrimental to my future and finances. Her articulation is supreme in and out of the courtroom. When it came to custody court, Jill was diligent in ensuring we had all the documentation we needed, and walked me through the process with such patience. During the actual hearing, I was blown away with her performance! Kind and compassionate where need be, but also tenacious and dare I say tactfully ruthless when fighting for me. I continued to retain Jill’s services for all my current custody matters and future custody potentials. I highly recommend Jill for those looking for a shark of a lawyer to represent them in family law.

Since hiring Jill as my attorney, she has displayed attention to the numerous intricacies within my high conflict custody case. She quickly became familiar with all the moving parts and players that have been introduced over a lengthy period of time. She acclimated herself at a fast pace enabling her the ability to manage multiple tasks relating to further discovery. She was responsive, acting with firm resolve within a timely fashion, as when she accepted my case, it was heading in a certain direction. Jill utilized her knowledge and wealth of experience in family law to better prepare me than any other attorney I have hired since separating and divorcing over 8 years ago. Jill prepared and enabled me to act in a manner resulting in gaining ground within the court, shedding light on what was being overshadowed by the use of manipulation and abuse on behalf of my ex. She listened to my concerns and further validated their existence. She looked at all angles, while remaining focused on the big picture. Jill kept my fears in check. She prioritized what info/material will best serve our purpose and was firm in regards to when the best time was to utilize them. Jill helped discard info that was clouding my vision and educated me on where to apply my energies, creating the opportunity for making the greatest impact for the results we were seeking. She assisted in helping me to discard what was weighing me down from being exposed to the family court system for almost a decade without resolve. She offered advisement when needed. Her expertise within the realm of family law is unparalleled to ALL others I have been in contact with over the past 8 years! She became my guide and offered direction and hope when the family court system has done nothing but disappoint, while failing both myself and my children. Jill strategically advised what I should concentrate on and what I should let go. She has always made herself both available by phone, as well as by person, whenever needed. She has proven over time that she is committed to going the distance and I honestly feel she cares for the well being of my children. For this, I am and will be forever grateful. If you are currently seeking an attorney who will best represent you and/or your children's best interest...and have been a victim within the family court system...feeling discouraged and defeated...I highly recommend Jill for the job! She will NOT disappoint!

I just wanted to write a review in favor of Rob. He handled my divorce, in addition to some other legal matters for me. I don’t take writing references lightly, but I can tell you that I have also referred him to a handful of people that were also very pleased. I think Rob’s greatest strength is the ability to understand your current situation will also helping you plan out our future. You can’t go wrong working with Rob.

Rob provides straightforward representation presented in plain English. He will explain the the pros and cons of each situation, injecting his counsel where appropriate, but gives you enough information to make your own decision. Rob also handles all of the administrative details and paperwork required by the legal system, but spares his clients the burden. I would have no problem recommending Rob's services to any of my friends and family.

I met with Jennifer after my disappointment with my two year experience with another attorney. At my first meeting with Jen, she knew more about my case from reviewing before our meeting than my previous attorney had obtained over the course of two years. Right away I could tell she was very organized, prepared and focused on me and what she could do for me. She is very professional and straightforward. She also is very passionate about justice and is very empathetic and compassionate. She was excellent and thorough with communicating and also listening . I never felt hurried or confused about what was happening. Within three weeks from our initial meeting, I was in her office signing a divorce agreement. She moves swiftly and confidently, reading between the lines and checking all the boxes. She got me a better offer than I initially expected and I didn’t have to worry about any loose ends. She is all around an amazing person to have on your side, whatever the reason. My experience was a ten out of ten.

Her guidance and expertise allowed me to be more at ease with the legal process and focus on moving forward. She is an advocate that goes above and beyond for her clients. I would highly recommend her services.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
