Enough years have gone by that I feel OK attaching my name to this review. I engaged the firm at a very tough time in my life. The experience working with this firm was excellent. They are extremely competent in all possible ways, and helped me understand the path to an equitable resolution of my case; the process was the embodiment of the famous philosopher Jagger: "You can't always get what you want, but you might find, you get what you need." I got what I needed: closure, some money, and a sense that a measure of justice was served. It would not have happened without them.

My family and I were in need of an advocate in education law. Never in a million years did we ever think we would be in that situation. We felt the odds were against us and my son was not getting the education he needed. From the first appointment we knew we found someone who not only had expert knowledge of PA Education law but also had a heart of gold. His compassion and knowledge provided us an opportunity to stand up and truly advocate for our son in ways we were unable to do prior. Although we did end up in a courtroom we finally received the best end result. Fred knew how to get the job done! My son now has an opportunity to receive his education in the manner that is best suited for him. The school district has finally acknowledged his disability. Without Fred this would not have happened. Fred takes the time to explain everything to you in detail and really cares about you. It wasn't so much about "winning" as much as it was about getting the best result for my son. Nobody truly "wins" in court but I am proud to say my son has won the right to his education without being penalized for a disability outside anyone's immediate control. As parents we were ill equipped to navigate this process without having an advocate like Fred. Looking back to the first appointment in his office when we were in so much despair I remember leaving with a glimmer of hope. Where we are today as a family is truly amazing. We were able to succeed. Best of all our son is thriving! Saying thank you is simply not enough. I hope others who are in need of an expert in education law can also partner with Fred. Fred will get the job done!

I was refered to Hardwick Benefer's office by a friend. The moment I walked into the office, I felt very comfortable, Virginia was the legal consultant that worked with me on my case. She was a very genuinly nice person. My case took couple months till it was resolved. During these couples months, Virginia answered all my emails and answered all my questions very clearly and fast. I knew that my case will be resolved to my best interest at the very first moment I had my meeting with Virginia during my first visit. My experince was very smooth I hope this review will help people who are looking for a courteous and professtional legal consultant. Thank you again Virginia!

I highly recommend Cordisco & Saile. Attorney, Kevin Bradway, will never stop fighting for you until he gets the best results. He keeps you updated on your case every step of the way. Joann, his paralegal is very caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Who will also always be there to answer your questions … their professionalism and dedication to their job is unmatched.

Liz is a fine lawyer. I hired her after having two of the "best" lawyers Doylestown had to offer. I found her to be clear and level headed, there was none of the "puffing" the other two offered. Liz is extremely talented at working the numbers for a high asset divorce. She understands all of the ins and outs of the complex picture. Her level head is very calm and comforting at this highly emotional, ugly time. I would HIGHLY recommend her to any and all.

Normally I don't do reviews but when I saw what "Marion" wrote I had to respond. I found Linda and Carol to be compassionate and responsive to my situation. They helped get my bills paid and routinely called me to see how I was doing. My settlement was more than I anticipated and I thank goodness that I had an attorney that didn't give in to the insurance company and kept fighting to see I got the money I deserved. So if that makes her money hungry, I'm happy. My lawyer should want to get the most money possible and my case was settled without going to court.

When I got hurt, I didn't know which way to turn for help. My car was wrecked and I couldn't get to my doctor's appointments or take care of my kids. I hired Linda Shick. Her assistants were always there to talk to me and help me. They made sure I got my wage check and made sure my doctor's got paid. My case got settled pretty fast.

  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Doylestown, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
