Due to the passing of my partner with whom I co-owned a property in Italy for many years, I was faced with some daunting legal tasks. After tracing our roots back to Sicily during Covid a journey began with obtaining Dual citizenship and then searching for a property to purchase in Sicily. After a very long vetting process we learned of the law firm Studio Legale Metta. After 1 video conference with Nick Metta the stage was set for a very complicated process since our purchase involved a historical property owned by the Italian government. Nick Metta matched our purchase with an up and coming star of their firm that spoke beautiful english ... his name is Nicola Iannone. Although we still consider Nick our attorney since completing the process we consider him more of a friend. He is a person who was always available to explain the intricacies of the transaction and gladly take our calls and texts 24/7. Although we were thousands of kilometers away for the closing Nick even took the time to facetime us during the closing so we could see him smile and he could see us cry with joy when the last closing document was signed. I contacted SLM in July of 2021 after having initiated the process of citizenship with the Italian consulate in the US. SLM gave me a step by step method and kept track of outstanding items as well as completed items. They took care of all necessary appointments as well as the official procedures, and in some cases, went to bat for me with the local authorities. My job was to follow instructions - to obtain and correct various family documents ( NB - the document requirements in Italy are 1/2 those that the IT consulate requires ) . Once I had obtained the final, corrected ( and Apostiled ) documents, it took was less than 10 days for the local municipality to verify my Italian citizenship . That is the real test of the agency.. NB - The italian consulates in the US typically take 2 yrs to get an appointment and if the documents need correcting, there is an additional 18 month wait. Their pricing is very reasonable and flexible : there is a prix fixe option or an alla carte option. I opted for the former and am sure that saved money in the long run. When there was a option of doing work myself or having them do it, the choise was mine. Some things were translated and certified in the US; other documents were done by SLM. I have already recommended their services to my cousins and to an Italian friend living in Sicily with an American husband. I rate their services among the top legal services that I have encountered in the past 50 yrs.

Both Nick Metta and Dario Gambino assisted me in acquiring the necessary succession paperwork I needed regarding family property in Italy. After several failed attempts trying to contact the Italian consulate, my attorney here in the United States recommended I give them a call. I met with Mr. Metta first via a phone conversation in which he gathered all the necessary information. Then his colleague Mr. Gambino was in constant contact via email, informing me of the progress. The whole process was painless from start to finish. The cost was reasonable and not inflated.
