I reached out to Nancy and left a message detailing my remodeling related issues with a home improvement company. Nancy was prompt in her returning my call. Nancy educated me and professionally gave me insight so that I could make a sound decision on a standing offer in compromise. She gracefully gave her time until my questions were answered , for free I might add! I would recommend anyone with a consumer related matter to consult with Nancy and if need be, trust in hiring her to bring forth a just result.

I happened to call Nancy looking for a female lawyer to help me with a medical malpractice case. She wouldn't take the case on personally, because she felt my specific case required someone with expertise in the area. However, she spent the next year finding me the best lawyers to talk to, she fought for my records and gave me the emotional and psychological support that was well beyond any call of duty. She gave her time, diligence and unwavering support because that's who she is, not what she does. There are no words to describe the professionalism combined with true connection that Nancy brings to her clients-Heck, I wasn't even one! I highly recommend her. If I ever need a lawyer again...she is the only one for me.

Nancy is smart, knowledgeable of the law and very personable. She is tough and fights for your rights. I went all over Doylestown trying to find an attorney who would accept my case after my house was wrongly sold in a tax sale. When the other attorneys said to me you will never win and there was only one case where they overturned a tax sale. Nancy took the time to listen to me explain what happened and she said I cannot promise anything but I will help you! She was like an angel sent from God! Not only did she help me but she won my house back! I would definitely recommend her. She is the BEST!!

Nancy is the best. She brings so much empathy and understanding to the table and fiercely advocates for her clients. She also gives great advice by looking at the whole picture and laying out the legal steps and then other action items to achieve goals. She is creative and leaves no stone unturned. Nancy has helped me through a number of issues ranging from simple disputes with my neighbor to complex business issues. In each case she took the time to really understand the situation and my goals and proposed practical steps. She really thinks of everything. She is dedicated and resourceful and incredibly helpful.

In 2007 I presented with one of the biggest challenges of my life.  I was defrauded by a group of international crooks on a real estate investment contract.  Through the grace of God, I was introduced to Nancy.  She spent hours listening to me and my husband on how we were duped.  When going through something like this you feel helpless, stupid, distraught and scared.  Nancy worked fast and thoroughly and provided our family with the hope of coming out of this nightmare.  Within a few months we were in court and had a judgment was placed against the perpetrators.   That's just one instance where Nancy has helped us.  We are business people within the community and since this time, we have retained Nancy on an ongoing basis for all and any of our legal needs.   Its been 12 years since I met Nancy Kanter and would recommend her to anyone who needs someone to cover your back.  She's our advocate, hero and champion.  Professional, smart and truly a great attorney looking out for her client's best interest.

Rob is fantastic. He helped me tremendously with a case many years ago, and luckily I haven’t needed his expertise since then, lol. Recently I did have an issue that needed to be resolved immediately, I had no time to waste. I texted Rob that I needed help and he was able to call me at 9am before his busy day in court that consisted of many cases that were not mine. He was able to give me the advice that I needed and from there I was able to move forward and clear everything up for myself. Thanks for the wise words Rob.

Robert Mancini is the best lawyer there is. He worked a small miracle for me. He underpromised and over performed in an amazing way. If you need legal help contact him immediately.

Greg Mitsch is not just an excellent attorney, but also an incredible human. Truly one of the good guys, he understands the art of fighting hard if he has to, but fair. He brings extensive legal knowledge with psychological awareness, ethics and respect; an often rare combination amongst high conflict divorce attorneys. He put me at ease, equipped me with as much information as I needed, handled for me what I didn’t need to, and I had a near perfect outcome. I imagine most anyone would feel safe, protected, and well informed with his representation.

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Doylestown, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
