Cons
1
Lack of empathy and professionalism in handling sensitive client matters
“She knew I was already Uncomfortable that morning and could have showed some Compassion for my position. How Professional was this I thought.”
2
Prioritizes case volume over quality of representation
“Her Lack of Interest in my case and obvious Bother for her to be Representing me showed in her Lack of pursuing a Longer Order Of Protection. She could see that I was Extremely Frightened and Concerned for Myself and my Family due to the Attack the defendant was Charged with in February. She wanted to get out of the Courtroom that day and getting as many Clients as she could Attach to her Record seemed to be her Only Agenda.”

Sara is an incredible lawyer! She took on my case and made short work of the heavy handed prosecution. Her knowledge of the law and quick thinking saved me from having to pay thousands of dollars in fines and having the conviction on my record. Her personal connections with influential people helped me get my case dismissed. She’s a great listener and took copious notes on my case. If you’re in a jam and need an honest, smart, hardworking, and quick thinking lawyer, then Sara Webster is who you need! Thank you Sara!!

Sara Webster is truly one of a kind. A simple conversation with her will show how intelligent she is. She represented me and I believe with all the disadvantages I had to go against there’s no way I could have done it without Sara . She shook the room with the powerful facts and the way she presented it to the jury. She made the prosecution look foolish. She fought for my case as her life depended on it. She proved my innocence even with all the odds stacked against her. The tears of joy she brought to me and my family when the verdict was said will always be treasured from all of us.

Sara Webster is the best lawyer that I have ever used. Thankfully I haven’t needed many. 😂 She is a sweetheart that will go to battle for you. She knows the ins and outs of the judicial system. If you are in a bad situation, she is the one you want to have your back. Unfortunately it only let me leave five stars. I would leave 10. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ She really helped me get out of a bad situation that was brought upon me. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Sara is the person you want on your side. Trust me from first hand experience. 😊

On the fence about this one. Only time will tell. I’ll have to see if the outcome. Sara’s one of a kind. Sara was a Bull Dog lawyer in the courtroom! I couldn’t have taken a picture in the courtroom.

Peter was able to take a difficult family situation and make it a pleasurable experience. I took my parents to him for Estate Planning. They were apprehensive and anxious about the process. Peter was able to put them at ease and handled my family with the skill of a family counselor. Our entire family felt like we were in good hands. Peter's professionalism, knowledge of the law and warm personality made our experience stress free. I would highly recommend Peter Reiss to anyone in need of a great "Estate Planning" lawyer.

I cannot recommend Jackie enough! She made what could have been a stressful process feel seamless and easy for me. After many failed attempts with a previous attorney, I was referred to Jackie and am so happy she took me as a client. Not only was she incredibly professional, but her deep knowledge and expertise were evident in every step. She always had the perfect advice and her confident approach led to me winning full custody of my child as well as withheld support . On top of that, she was easy to communicate with and made me feel confident and supported the entire time. If you’re looking for an attorney who is both personable, professional and amazing in the courtroom hire her!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Doylestown, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
