If you suffer from CPTSD, and have mental and physical issues due to domestic and sexual violence, DO NOT call this woman. Firstly, her assistant Maggie treated my story of various long term traumas with a yawn. I was able to emotionally regulate enough express how thoroughly disgusting her attitude towards an abused woman was that she turned saccharine before I was able to end the call with decency. I found Ms. Mizerak off-putting, condescending, and emotionally cold. She behaved as though I was an illiterate. I was recommended to her as both an MD and a good lawyer to represent a victim of a life of sexual violence and physical abuse from Domestic Violence, etc. She completely dismissed my long history of documentation, and made clear she'd only takey case if I got a letter from my neurologist first. She was cold, lacking compassion, and obviously not hungry for cases. I'd advise avoiding her. Miserable person.

If you want a lawyer that seems like they care initially and then doesn't respond to multiple emails, Heather is the lawyer for you.

Heather has worked hard on my behalf during my child custody case. While I believe the system as a whole has many flaws, Heather puts in the effort needed to prevail in spite of those flaws. I would definitely recommend her as an attorney.

Heather represented Dave Cortina and myself in a custody case fighting for fulltime custody of his 3 boys. She was tough in the courtroom and stopped at nothing to get to the truth. Back in 2009 Barb was my attorney in family court she was so kind caring compassionate n never ever made me feel like I was less of a person or judged me just bc I became a teen Mom back in 2004 like so many other ppl did. I recommend her n her team to my friends n family if they need legal help n heaven forbid I myself ever need an attorney for anythin I'll definitely be going to her
