I went to Diane Baker custody case, she charged $3000 as retainer and exhausted all retainer within weeks not doing any benefit for me or the kids which was not what we agreed on from the beginning, and she asked for another $4000 retainer to continue my case without reaching any progress or doing what she promised from the beginning, I decided to fire her and complained to the bar and BBB as she has no work ethics and that can't happen in such a sensitive job that affects people life, please don't do the same mistake I did and find yourself another lawyer that actually cares and works for your benefit.

Diane Baker is a very skilled attorney. With Diane's help, I now have shared legal custody of my daughter. I am the father in this situation and I filed a petition to have shared legal custody. Diane gave me advice from relocating to the area and school district (I lived in another city) and how to handle anticipated obstacles. She also gave advice on ways to strengthen myself as a father and a coparent. Diane truly puts the child first.

During initial consultation, attorney Baker stated she handled all types of divorce cases. However, when my case became difficult due to a contentious opposition attorney, she "suggested" that I seek another attorney. In an email, she clearly stated to me that at her point in her practice she was no longer interested in difficult cases. Frankly, I think she misrepresented herself and for that reason I rate her credibility and trustworthiness as poor. Also, she suggested that I accept a consent decree concerning contact with my spouse. When I violated that agreement and was threatened with what had become a criminal matter, she informed me that she did not handle criminal matters and told me to find another attorney for this. When I asked for a referral, she could not provide one. If she could not fully represent me in this part of my case then she should not have suggested that I enter into an agreement with potential criminal consequences.
