I contacted Mr. McMahon's office regarding my chances for seeing my grandson under the Grandparents Rights Law in Lancaster County, PA. I travelled about an hour and 20 minutes to get to his office, only to get stuck in construction and therefore delayed about 10 minutes for my appt. I called the office to report my status and location and asked for help in suggesting an alternate route. The secretary didn't know the street I was on, okay. I finally found a public parking garage and was slightly disoriented as to which way to go to walk to the office. I again called the office, and, again, the secretary didn't know until I mentioned I was near a Starbucks. That jolted her memory and she was able to direct me to the office about a block away. When I arrived, I walked up to the desk and gave my name and to whom I had an appt. only to be greeted with the question of how I was going to handle payment for the consultation. Really? I didn't have my coat off yet. When I finally met with Mr. McMahon, I found him to be direct, aggressive and knowledgeable. I could imagine him being tenacious in the courtroom. But, he didn't have to be that way with me. It seemed to me that he had no time or patience for my explanations and, in fact, I joked with him that he only wanted a "yes" or "no" answer from me. I felt as though I was wasting his time and that he had someplace else to go, as he looked at his watch, not once, but at least 3 times during the 35 minutes I was there. He eventually told me there was nothing he could do and stood up and walked outside, waiting for me to get up and follow him out. I did, but not without putting my coat on while he seemed to impatiently wait for me to leave the room. I went into the meeting knowing that my chances for seeing my grandson were slim to none, as grandparents have very narrow limits in PA. I knew it. But I at least was hoping to be treated with some humanity. Instead, I found Mr. McMahon to be brusque. He is a young attorney and although he may be a pitbull in the courtroom when needed, a great attorney also possesses compassion and sensitivity. Mr. McMahon needs a whole lot of work in the latter.

Joe was very honest and upfront with us about our case. He told us what could happen either way. We found him to be very knowledgeable about the laws. During the trial he was very professional, honest, and tenacious. Joe knows the system very well and is respected for his integrity.

I would absolutely recommend McMahon & Winters for any & all your legal needs. Joe McMahon is extremely well versed in all things legal, he knows all the tricks of the trade, and their office practices everything from criminal to custody to law. I will never walk in to a courtroom without Joe McMahon by my side to represent me. Their Practice, and Mr. McMahon in particular, are very highly recommended.
