I have never used Avvo before, nor have I ever heard of the site, but I was disappointed in the responses i received for my question from other lawyers... They all said basically the same thing, which was to get an attorney; well obviously if I am asking my question on this site my attorney either could not answer my question, or I don't want to pay for one and just want a simple yes or no answer. Although Mr. Pelgers' answer did not necessarily answer with a 'yes' or 'no' answer, he gave me an honest answer that basically proved he did what other lawyers did not do, which was read the question that I wanted answered then answered it to the best of his ability while speaking in simple (non-lawyer) terms so that I was able to understand. He stood out to be a 'down to earth' lawyer that does not recite from his textbooks. I am very impressed, and wish that more lawyers would treat people like me as if I were a paying client.
