Hired Angelo several months back after two separate attorneys dragged out my son's case an egregious length of time unnecessarily. During that time to date, Angelo has made a significant impact in our case, although it has not concluded, we are extremely confident in a favorable outcome no matter the lengths to be taken moving forward. Extremely knowledgeable, Personable, and effective. Will share outcome as transpires ,of which we are confidential in. We can't stress enough how much we appreciate all you've done for our son and family thus far, your integrity speaks volumes. Thank you. Chris Zedak

I've had Chris work on a few things for me. He took a case that no one else would and won. He has gone above and beyond for me and I can't thank him enough. Excellent attorney and a great person.

Pros
1
Excellent courtroom performance and legal expertise
“This man is excellent. Every time I see him in the courtroom he leaves me speechless. He definitely knows his way around the courtroom.”
2
Delivers outstanding results for clients
“Hands down works harder then any other attorney and asks questions that puts the whole court room in suspense! This guy is the real deal! When Booker works for you the Law goes your way!”
3
Highly dedicated and committed to clients
“Angelo knows how to listen and follows through with action. Regardless of what's going on in his own personal life he shows up no matter what.”
4
Flexible payment options and fee structures
“He also has a flexible fee structure which permitted my son to pay with a credit card or a check. Angelo offered to let my son pay only the first Phase so we had a chance to evaluate the file, the facts, and their office to determine if he wanted to proceed.”
5
Provides personalized and compassionate service
“From the first day that I met Angelo he was more than just an attorney for me. He cared about my case enough to meet with me and discuss several issues on several occasions.”
Cons
1
Lack of responsiveness and communication issues
“Rude, unprofessional during consultation. I sent an email with the information they requested and never heard back.”
2
Inconsistent service and failure to follow through
“So far, I've literally gotten nothing. I emailed them asking for representation, and they asked for the details. So I sent them the details. I needed an attorney fast due to me not getting my charges literally until less than a month before my prelim. I was told today that I had a phone meeting scheduled, at 1pm to figure everything out. I've called, I checked my email repeatedly, they never called once.”
3
Overcharging for services and billing concerns
“An attorney's office should have a receptionist so you're not left waiting around in an empty lobby wondering when he'll show up. Rates at least for estate services are $325. Some other client's court paperwork stamped RESTRICTED in red was sitting out on the desk in the lobby in plain view. This attorney also doesn't seem to use secretary or paralegal billing for routine/mundane tasks, so the fees are higher than they need to be.”
4
Failure to provide expected service and outcomes
“Seriously. I hired this guy and he couldn't help me in the least bit. Was extremely rude for no reason and so unhelpful. Couldn't help me do anything and made me go super out of my way to do every little thing that would have been easy for him. Then we went to court and he barely tried to help me legally.”
5
Unethical and unprofessional behavior
“Works with criminals to help them get away with what they have done no matter who it hurts even if it's innocent children. Should be ashamed of himself for choosing money over the safety of a child.”

I am so pleased with the service that Kathleen has provided us since my injury. We call Dallas Hartman after seeing a television commercial about workers' compensation. I was getting my benefits but I thought it would not hurt to get an expert opinion. Everyone I dealt with was so nice and Kathleen took my information and told me to let her know if anything changes. When my employer tried to stop paying my benefits before I could return to work, Kathleen jumped into action. I am so thankful for her help. It never cost me anything and with her help she was able to get my benefits continued for almost a year. I highly recommend Kathleen Robertson if you have been hurt at work.

Matt went above and beyond what I paid him for! He let the spirit dwelling inside of him protect me from being overcharged. In the face of overwhelming expert testimony that was wrong but appeared to be true, Mathew Mangino Got very serious charges wrongly filled against me thrown out based on the truth. Thank you Matt you saved my life!

I feel that Matt did a great job with my case. Unfortunately I was only able to hire him after I had my preliminary hearing and was already at the point where they offered me a plea agreement. But he was able to get me a way better plea. And I was very satisfied with him.

Attorney Mangino was always there when I needed to ask a question. He responded quickly when I left a message. He called me even after I received a settlement just to see how I was feeling. I would highly recommend him.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of New Castle, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
