I'd like to keep this short and simple because I am deeply embarrassed of my actions for driving under the influence. This attorney I hired saved me from loosing my drivers license. I appreciate your hard work. I learned a lifetime lesson and will never drink and drive again.

My husband was caught with distributing drugs and was facing a mandatory of 24 months in jail. We have two little girls and I automatically assumed my life would turn upside down. I contacted my uncle who hired Ben Datika in the past for his sons case. Long story short Ben Datika comforted me and promised me that he will do his best on my husbands case. It is very hard for us financially and I explained this along with our other family issues to Ben and he went above and beyond trying to calm me down and work out a payment plan with me. I really appreciate everything you have done for my husband and myself. Ben came through with his promise and worked out a deal were my husband would only serve 30 days in jail with no probation. I cant thank you enough being a stay at home mom me and my daughters can not wait for there dad to be home. My entire family thanks you.

Ben is an excellent attorney. Ben listens to his client's needs and provides informative guidance. Ben is responsive to the needs of his clients and always makes time to discuss their needs. Ben comes prepared with intelligent strategies and is realistic about possible outcomes. Ben's greatest asset is his ability to negotiate and advocate for the best interest of his client. I recommend using Ben's services above any other attorney I have ever interacted with. Ben argued aggressively to achieve an outstanding result. He is a talented professional who is serious about delivering results.

Going through a legal battle for the first time in my life as a new mother and single mother, I was very scared about what my case would lead to for myself and my child. Ben was exactly who I needed as a lawyer because he fought just as hard for me, if not harder than I was able to for myself at the time. Along with giving reassurance, he was extremely honest, prompt and persistent, which helped to ease so much of my anxiety. Most importantly, those same qualities led to the amazing and almost impossible outcome of me being available to write this review today. He didn’t just stop at helping me receive a good outcome, but also went the extra mile for me to receive the BEST outcome. Thank you so much Ben for saving both myself and my son from the system.

He has done great work on my case and has gone above and beyond what his duties as my pd normally would be ! Even after my case has been decided he is helping me file motions and getting things that were confiscated back and with my fines as well!!! A great man and wonderful lawyer if I had the money I would have hired him out right ! He's done a great job with me and my case and would hire him again if I ever had to! I recommend him to anyone in Montgomery county looking for a great lawyer who will do his absolute best and handle everything he can to help you out! Easy to talk to and gets back to me whenever I had a question! Incredible lawyer and helps make the process easier when dealing with legal issues!

I was referred to Mr. George M. Griffith Jr. to handle my first criminal offense case by a good friend. He is very efficient especially responding back to left messages and emails. I was very nervous considering this is my first time getting into trouble but at our first meeting he reviewed and explained all my possible opinions. Also his office is located right across from the court house which makes this experience easier for me. His fees are also affordable.

During my miserable divorce, I spent a great deal of time with Michael. I found him to be VERY impressive. He in a "no nonsense" kind of guy who truly acted in my best interest all of the time. In the 4 plus years we spent together, he NEVER put me on a loser or lead me down a dark path. I have and would suggest him to anyone who needs representation. He was always fair and considerate of my situation. The divorce process can be treacherous but Michael is not an alarmist and was never unprepared or caught off guard. He is perhaps one of the smartest men I know. I hope I never have to use him again in the future!

I had a great experience with David Spitofsky assisting me with my bankruptcy, Anytime I needed to speak with him he would call back and assist me, without me having to call multiple times to speak with him, even with things others may have thought were unnecessary or annoying questions that I may have had, he never made me feel as if I was bothersome. He's always taken his time to explain any of the paperwork and procedures and kept me on top of everything that was happening with my case. I'm very grateful to have had him as a Attorney and would advise others to work with him as well. Hoping I won't need his assistance again but if so I will definitely use him again. Thank You David Spitofsky for all you help.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Norristown, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
