Mary Cushing Doherty has provided legal support to me related to my divorce and alimony payments for over 3 years now. Mary stepped in to support the conclusion of an addendum to my separation agreement, that I had previously been working on with a different group of attorneys. Dissatisfied with their work, I sought an alternative view and Mary provided a rational, insightful and informed alternative. As a result I have continued to work with Mary over the past 3 years, resolving the addendum to the agreement, managing funds distribution from a company sale and my annual alimony calculations. Mary is very knowledgeable, not only of the law and how it relates to divorce and alimony in PA, but also of the local system, courts and other attorneys. She is practical, calm, professional and reasonable in terms of fees. She has dealt well with my ex's attorney's - seeking agreement, but standing firm on the key issues, never falling into pointless conflict that I have seen drive devision and costs with prior attorneys. Shari is an outstanding lawyer! She knows the rights of her clients and her recommendations are based on the client's best interest, always making your options known to you. She is caring and compassionate during the most stressful time and never lets you feel like you are alone. Her reassurance is so welcomed in unsure waters. Her response time to questions is excellent, especially when the stress level is building from the unknown. She remains calm and patient and keeps you level headed when you feel like you are coming undone. Stephen Zaffuto has done a great job for us handling a complicated PA Transfer Tax issue. He has guided us successfully through the appeals process and we are grateful for his help in getting refunds of several assessments that we were not sure we could get back.
