Could not have asked for a better attorney to work and fight for all that he knew we deserved following injuries sustained in an automobile accident which injuried four of us. In the Summer of 2016, my wife, my best friends his wife and myself were in a severe motor vehicle accident in Maryland while traveling home from vacation in Myrtle Beach. An oncoming car entered our lane and struck our SUV being driven by my best friend. We could not avoid it. We were sent into the air, flipped over more than once and landed in a ditch. Each of us sustained injuries that required Emergency Medical Care. The extend of the injuries varied, but I suffered a spiral fracture of my right humerus, which left my arm in three pieces as well as lots of bruises and cuts. My wife sustained a broken right hand and hip and back issues. My injury required surgery and a 5 day hospital stay that then led to more than 6 months of disability, along with 6+ of physical therapy before returning to work but definitely not back to normal. My wife was casted and healed for her broken hand but to this day is still treating nerve and pain issues with her hip from the accident. Having known John Novak since we started working together in high school. I knew of his established law practice and knew he deserved by business to file a suit/claim against the driver who caused our accident/injuries and misery! John diligently began compiling piles and piles of medical records, personal accounts of the accident and the outcomes that and my wife suffered. While filing our claim against the driver he was timely and so accommodating. He made house visits to drop off paperwork, get signatures or just to update us on our claim/suit. Needless to say his professionalism and tact with dealing with the insurance company allowed us to have a maximum settlement between all 4 parties injured. One would think he would stop and rest on his laurels, NOT JOHN. He let us know that due to the severity and the truly life long impact of our injuries he did not think we have received enough compensation. So John continues to develop and file claim for us to receive compensation from my insurance provider. To say he knows his stuff is not enough! I'm a financial planner and when one of my clients lost her 29 year-old son abruptly, John couldn't have been more helpful. My client's son died with less than $10,000 in liquid assets. Unsurprisingly he did not have a will, nor did he have any named beneficiaries on his investment/bank accounts. To complicate matters further, my client and her son were originally from Pennsylvania. However, she recently moved to New Jersey and her son had just recently moved to Florida. On top of that, he had an infant daughter (my client's granddaughter), but was never married. Fortunately John is licensed in all three states (NJ, PA, and FL) and was able to help immensely. My client's late son did not have a lot of money, nor did he have any life insurance. The main objective was to take the relatively small investment/bank accounts her son had (this was less than $10,000) and put it away for her infant granddaughter's college education. You would think this could be accomplished easily as it sounds so reasonable and the right thing to do right? WRONG. Dying without a will and without beneficiaries on the investment accounts made this an extremely burdensome task, especially when you're dealing with multiple states. John thought outside the box and crafted a brilliant solution. What I admired most about John was that he was compassionate and he did it for little or no cost from what I recall. The cost of legal fees could have easily exceeded what the entire estate was worth! Attorney John Novak is one of the best if not the best attorneys I've ever dealt with.
