I've worked with Lynn as my divorce attorney for the past year and a half. She was a recommendation from a trusted friend. From the first conference with Lynn, I felt confident I had the right person on my side. I was concerned about having a lawyer who's only concern was being cut throat. I found Lynn to be very professional, honest, and forthright. I found her input incredibly valuable from her legal expertise, but equally valuable with guiding me through the emotional challenges of divorce and child custody. She was able to fight for me when necessary and kept me grounded at the same time. She knows the law and knows how to navigate. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a tough lawyer with a big heart.

I have the highest respect and admiration for Lynn Snyder, Attorney for family law. She is extremely competent, compassionate and very experienced. Lynn is not the typical attorney that looks to churn the bill at every opportunity. I was recommended to see Lynn from an outstanding attorney from the domestic violence center. My family is so lucky that I met Lynn. She had me fill out all of the typical discovery paper work prior to our first complementary interview and she was well prepared to discuss my case prior to the start of the meter running. My case involved mental health issues with my spouse. (Through this journey I’ve found out that mental health issues are more prevalent than anyone would admit in our society.) By Lynn’s 18+ years as a Master in the Courts, her sage counsel and her respect from the courthouse, Lynn enabled me to get full legal and physical custody of my children, which is just short of a miracle in the state of Pennsylvania. In the end, Lynn also helped me have my wife get the help that was needed for my wife’s recovery. Lynn never pushed me to divorce, which would have been the easiest path for someone that didn’t care, but it would not have been the best road for my family. Instead, Lynn always provided solid counsel and guidance that in the end provided a path for our family to get back together and regain our lives. I can’t thank Lynn enough. I have interacted with many attorneys throughout my life for business and what not. I have never interacted with a more compassionate, caring and capable attorney than Lynn Snyder. She helped me get my wife and family back together. She is the best family attorney and anyone would be lucky to be represented by Lynn Snyder.

Lynn has helped me with a very complex child custody case which she resolved Smoothly for both parties. Then my wife put a PFA order against me which Lynn successfully argued and cross examined in court with my wife and the judge dropped the final PFA order just based on wife'a testimony and Lynn amazing discovery skills. Finally Lynn has helped me a emergency child custody petition fearing the mother was being deported back to her home county and now is in process to file annulment of marriage with my wife. In alll cases Lynn has prevailed and her knowledge of the law, her agressive, yet defensive and tactile approach to handling the cases helped me in each incident to be in my favor. She is very practical and very responsive to each call and email I sent her. She doesn't wait one minute without working on my case. Seems like I am her only client lol! I highly recommend Lynn for all your family and domestic law needs. She will win your case !

Lynn Snyder is just the person you would want to have your back in family law. She has a wealth of experience in this venue, knows the players in Chester County Court and will work hard to do the best possible for her clients in any given situation. I have known her as Master in divorce court and worked with her in multiple situations. Now that she is in her own practice I have enlisted her as my attorney as well.

I would recommend Lynn to anyone who needs assistance with family court. She made the horrible process so much easier by answering all of my questions honestly and making herself available whenever I needed her. With her experience and expertise she is able to guide you in the right direction with any issues you may have. She was excellent!

He handled my Unemployment compensation appeal. I was so nervous I was shaking like a wet dog and showed up barely in time for the hearing. On the other side were representatives of my former employer, the school District of Philadelphia. He was able to argue the law despite the lying of the other side (I am sure they will claim the same about me). And I left believing i had my say and my dignity back.

Anastasia handled a defamation case for me. Despite the fact I felt the lawsuit was without merit, she approached it like I was the most important case she had at the moment. She filed an answer with the court that the judge didn’t even allow a hearing over. We won, and got a dismissal before we ever went to court. With prejudice too! She went above and beyond for me, even helping me navigate a separate suit I had against the defendant, which I finally won again before trial. She was so professional, intelligent, and calm, all I could do was admire her professionalism. She wasn’t just one of the brightest women I’ve ever met, she was one of the brightest people, Ive ever met. She was so sure of herself, but not arrogant.........I can only say she stopped me in my tracks. Beautiful, Bright, Intellegent Woman! For me, she was a shining star!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Paoli, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
