Absolutely stellar. It’s more the exception than the rule in this day and age to find an attorney who is passionate, compassionate and truly results driven. Chad Boonswag is that exception profoundly. Hands down he’s the best of the best! Within weeks he had my full face value insurance check plus interest when the insurance company had delayed and put me off for eight months. When one suffers a loss that’s bad enough but when insurers leave you wanting contrary to your loved ones intent and hard earned premiums paid unfortunately you’re not going to be successful without an attorney who isn’t just about his bottom line but about dignity, compassion and truly cares. His team is exemplary as well! Carolina and Zoe are absolutely wonderful! Professional, on the ball and always available for you. Never be afraid to take that step and call their office. Think hard about your loved one wanting you cared for and about after their unfortunate passing. They haven’t a voice when they’re gone to see you’re seen to and provided for. They close their eyes at the last with a sense of peace knowing the insurance is there. For you. For your future. I know from experience how intimidating it can be after a loss and frustrating. Your loved one can no longer fight for you but Mr. Boonswag and his team can and will do. You’ve enough to deal with pick up the phone or fill out the online form. You’ll rest easier. I can’t say enough. If you want a stellar attorney it’s Chad Boonswag whether you live near or far. He’ll do his best for you because he cares.

I have tried to deal with this firm twice. The first in counter I didn’t have all my ducks in a row I personally needed to find more documentation. I have done just that and provided it to the firm. The wonderful “ intake specialist “ who is the gate keeper of the actual attorneys. Calls me half cocked with misinformation at the end of the day in an attempt to tell me my documents clearly state the coverage was changed BoonsWang could not help me. Carolina had chose to misinterpret a statement that was not favorable to my situation, As she had not even taken the effort to read the remaining documents to actually gain understanding the next 30 pages. We tried to have a discussion yet, her tone was as if I was agitating her. She placed the call to me, I knew very quickly she had not even actual reviewed the documents closely. I pointed out to her one of the most important documents Action of Notification, BASIC+B 5X this is after retirement on 2 different documents with different remarks on them pertaining to retirement She put me on hold several minutes and never called me back!!! To explain or be accountable for wasting my time. So there are 30 more pages!!! She never reviewed under a trained professional eye. Caroline only interest was to call me and tell me I was wrong. How did she get to the 14th document without seeing this information on the 4th document or the retirement date on the first document. She was looking for a way to deny my effort to seek counsel!!! I personally don’t have time to waste ! This level of litigation at a firm of this stature they don’t have time to waste either . That’s not my mission to waste my time I have an dead line to me I personally am interested in the details the ones on the document from the OPM office 1st the emails are just supporting the claim and they do support my claim. To make a statement about there being two different policies during employment not true there was an annuity that not the same I just didn’t respond to the comment… FERS/FEGLI they are one the same based on time of service and agency. This is to large of a sum of money for my counsel to not pay attention to the details with half measures done by the support staff, “ Intake specialist “ ( gate keeper) thanks for nothing. I still have to find counsel that will actually pay attention to the details you watsted my time. I am sure she makes it point to have 10 no’s to every 1 case she allows past her. there are some more complexities and it’s not a slam dunk I would need counsel that is sharper than this intake specialist, As there was some other litigation that was favorably tied to I would not recommend wasting your time to get your documents in order to send and number and Caroline can’t even tell you were the personally numbered page was. She did know where this one very misinterpreted statement that was on the 14th of the 1st 15 pages I sent over that all she got… Really…🤔🤨 Thank You Carolina for helping me dodge this bullet.

Highly recommend this firm. After a year dealing with life insurance company declining payout and pushing it back on employer and employer wanting to just pay back what was paid in on life policy was unacceptable. State Department of Finance stated out of their jurisdiction even thou policy was written in the state and apparently prior lawyer did nothing and in the end said didn’t believe there was a chance. Then I found Boonswang Law Firm and had full payout within a month! Yes, within a month! I am so grateful. Dealing with this firm was expedient and flawless. Wish I found them sooner. Grief and grieving is hard and shame on these insurance companies for making it difficult on top of that when our loved ones have passed. Also, for having to pay a lawyer! THANK YOU BOONSWANG LAW FIRM. If I could give you more than five stars I would.

Angela took such good care of us. She worked with my wife and me through the adoption of our second child. In that process she also caught and fixed an error in our first child’s adoption made by a previous law firm. She was kind, clear, timely and supportive. She held our hands through the process of setting up our will and making lots of important decisions. We can’t recommend Angela enough! I wish we had found her at the beginning of our adoption journey.

Truly cannot recommend Angela enough — she made the estate planning process as painless as it could possibly be and was able to offer profoundly helpful, real-world answers to all of my questions. No one wants to contemplate their own death and the aftermath — but as Angela advised me, one of most loving things we can do for those we leave behind is to have a plan. I’m very pleased with my experience and feel so much better knowing that I leave my loved ones with the certainty of my wishes. Thanks Angela!

Excellent attorney. When my office becomes involved in a complicated Real estate matter Mr. Hayes is the first person I will contact. He is very well respeected in the Title Insurance industry and he is an excellent trial lawyer . I have had the pleasure to be in the Court Room with Mr. Hayes and found him to be very well prepared and in total command of the client's case .

Attorney Youman has the qualities one would expect and hope for from a lawyer. I hired Mr. Youman for a malpractice suit. Mr. Youman’s law firm, Kline & Specter, is a leader in malpractice litigation. This is easy to believe given Mr. Youman’s skill. Mr. Youman stated from the outset what and what not to expect. He made no outrageous promises, yet fought for me every step of the way. Aside from aggressively pursuing justice, I was quite impressed with Mr. Youman’s knowledge and insights about malpractice law and procedures. He actually made the case look easy (although it was not)! Even further, Mr. Youman and his support staff ran a very efficient operation. Phone calls and emails were promptly returned. Professionalism and courtesy were ever-present. And, of course, we won the case -- despite a formidable and powerful opponent. Highly recommended.

Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
