I felt extremely well taken care of while being Franklin's client. There is so much to take care of when dealing with personal injury and I didn't have a worry at any time. Any doubts or questions I had were immediately answered and taken care of in a timely manner. Franklin took care of every thing and I will continue to consult and hire him if necessary in the future. My expectations were met and exceeded.

Franklin was recommended to me by another attorney because of his expertise in handling brain injury cases. On our initial meeting, I quickly knew he was the correct choice. I could instantly feel his compassion and concern not for getting a new client but for my health and well-being. There are new discoveries regularly about symptoms, test, and treatments for TBI. Franklin not only understands this but also knows who and where to send you for the best treatment. Over the course of a couple years, I received test and treatments that my insurance company and previous doctors probably didn't know existed. The firm spent a lot of money treating me without knowing what the outcome would be. Would another firm have done that? Maybe some would and some wouldn’t but for sure Franklin’s firm will. I don’t know what goes on behind the scene at the firm. Knowing Franklin I can picture him in the bosses office selling that we need to get these test, see these doctors and get this treatment. Because of Franklin's commitment to me and my health and the backing of the people in offices higher than his. I received the best treatment and care possible. We also did receive a substantial settlement. I highly recommend Franklin and his firm. Hopefully, I never need Franklin's services again. If you are reading this chances are good that you do. Just call him and have a consultation. You will quickly discover what I did and will be thankful you made the call.

This is the man you want in your corner if you ever have a legal battle. Intelligent, caring, compassionate and funny. From our first contact I could feel his genuine concern, I was not just another case but a real person that had been severely injured and needed help. We was not only concerned about the legal aspects of my life, he was concerned about the whole person. He responded to emails and phone calls promptly, and I never felt like I was being a pest. He made sure that I understood every step of the process that took almost 4 years. Because of his patience with me, it gave me patience with the process. After all, it's not a sprint, sometimes it's a marathon. Franklin's understanding of the law, and of and how to gently deal with a person in constant pain, (physical and emotional) will help you win in the end. And win "WE" did. Thank you Mr. Strokoff.

Angela took such good care of us. She worked with my wife and me through the adoption of our second child. In that process she also caught and fixed an error in our first child’s adoption made by a previous law firm. She was kind, clear, timely and supportive. She held our hands through the process of setting up our will and making lots of important decisions. We can’t recommend Angela enough! I wish we had found her at the beginning of our adoption journey.

Truly cannot recommend Angela enough — she made the estate planning process as painless as it could possibly be and was able to offer profoundly helpful, real-world answers to all of my questions. No one wants to contemplate their own death and the aftermath — but as Angela advised me, one of most loving things we can do for those we leave behind is to have a plan. I’m very pleased with my experience and feel so much better knowing that I leave my loved ones with the certainty of my wishes. Thanks Angela!

Having an attorney to protect my well being has allowed me to regain so much of my health and my life. A huge bow of gratitude to Angela Giampolo and Giampolo Law.

He is very well respeected in the Title Insurance industry and he is an excellent trial lawyer . I have had the pleasure to be in the Court Room with Mr. Hayes and found him to be very well prepared and in total command of the client's case .

Attorney Youman has the qualities one would expect and hope for from a lawyer. I hired Mr. Youman for a malpractice suit. Mr. Youman’s law firm, Kline & Specter, is a leader in malpractice litigation. This is easy to believe given Mr. Youman’s skill. Mr. Youman stated from the outset what and what not to expect. He made no outrageous promises, yet fought for me every step of the way. Aside from aggressively pursuing justice, I was quite impressed with Mr. Youman’s knowledge and insights about malpractice law and procedures. He actually made the case look easy (although it was not)! Even further, Mr. Youman and his support staff ran a very efficient operation. Phone calls and emails were promptly returned. Professionalism and courtesy were ever-present. And, of course, we won the case -- despite a formidable and powerful opponent. Highly recommended.

What Questions Should I Ask Before Hiring a Lawyer?

Hiring the right lawyer is crucial for the success of your case. Here are some important questions to ask during your initial consultation:

  1. What experience do you have with cases similar to mine?
Ensure the lawyer has relevant experience in the specific area of law pertaining to your case.
  2. How do you charge for your services, and what are the estimated costs?
Understand the fee structure, including hourly rates, flat fees, retainer fees, and any additional expenses.
  3. Who will be handling my case?
Find out if the lawyer will handle your case personally or delegate tasks to other attorneys or paralegals.
  4. What is your approach to resolving cases like mine?
Learn about their strategy, whether they prefer negotiation, mediation, or litigation.
  5. What potential outcomes can I expect?
While no lawyer can guarantee results, they can provide an assessment of possible scenarios based on their experience.
  6. How will you communicate with me throughout the process?
Establish expectations for updates, preferred communication methods, and response times.
  7. What is the expected timeline for my case?

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
