Some legal trouble found my young adult son. Mr. Lento returned my initial call the same day and offered some information to get us started. He was specific and realistic with what we could expect for the outcome. He was available to my son through emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings. Although the specific details were really for my son to relay to me, Mr. Lento made sure I got copies of emails pertinent to the progress of the case. My son was comfortable with Mr. Lento's interactions with him.

The experience and expertise Mr. Lento showed was beyond reproach. He explained everything that was going to happen and he gave me insight into my situation. Mr. Joseph Lento is an excellent attorney. He treats his clients like family and is both understanding and extremely compassionate. He is very willing to listen and he truly wants what is best for his clients. Overall I felt like mr lento was not confident in himself or the case we had brought to him. Which makes me feel like He just seen myself as easy money. He lost his cool on the date of our court hearing which was very unprofessional. I'm assuming since I am a woman and from out of state he didn't think that I would be present at the court hearing. His retainer fee is high compared to other lawyers but I chose him due to his "experience" in the end I wish I would have chosen someone else. He did not complete all aspects of what I paid him to do. He did not visit his client in jail prior to the court day. And was not ready. I had to literally talk him through what to write down and how to present the case.

Our son was accused of a Title IX violation in his freshman year of college. Though it seemed like the actual accusation was minor, we were concerned about possible repercussions and outcomes. We found Mr. Lento's number online, left a message for him in the evening and he called back that same evening. He was completely familiar with cases like our son's and took time to hear the details, give us an overview of the likely procedures and discuss possible outcomes with clarity and forthrightness. He covered a lot of details that we hadn't thought of pertaining to the accuser, the accusation, the college, the Title IX process, strategies and our son's future with knowledge and confidence. He was very clear on his involvement, fees, and next steps. He talked with our son right away and was calm, encouraging and honest with him about potential outcomes. Throughout the almost 4 month process, Mr. Lento was completely involved, talking and emailing with us and our son often daily, calling the school on our son's behalf, attending meetings with our son at the school, writing detailed formal submissions to the school and following up at all times. There were some ups and downs with the case and Mr. Lento accommodated them all promptly, and with professionalism and encouragement. We feel incredibly lucky that our son's case resolved in his favor, but know that a large part of that luck had to do with Mr. Lento's attention to detail and skill in navigating the process. If you are reading this review I am assuming you are put in a situation where some serious actions are needed to the extent of which a lawyer is required to aid you in your troubles. I will make this short and simple, working with Joseph has been an absolute pleasure and I would not hesitate to hire him as my lawyer again. I am an international student that was put in a very difficult situation right after graduating and required some serious help in order to keep my academic future intact. I got into contact with Joseph through the phone, in fact I left him a message on his website and I was almost immediately contacted. He reassured me that the situation I was in, despite being told it was final, could be redeemed and that he would do his absolute best to make sure that I was capable of continuing to pursue my future of being a doctor. I met up with Joseph later on that week and we spoke along with my family who has been stressed out about the news I’m dealing with. After a brief meeting I was sure he was the man for the job. He made it very clear that he was going to work on this matter for as long as it was needed and that he will give it 100% percent of his effort if not more. Suffice to say he delivered everything he promised, it took almost 6 months of constant pressuring and negotiations to finally reach a definitive conclusion and get my degree. There were plenty of times when I felt like just giving in and dealing with the aftermath of my actions later but Joseph constantly told me to remain calm and believe in the process he’s planned out. Anyways going back to the question you might be asking yourself, should I hire him as my lawyer or not? It’s a very easy question for me to answer i would easily say yes, I’ve very rarely met a more persistent/hard working person than he is. If you don’t believe me, at least do yourself a favor and contact him and you’ll find out why I spoke highly of his work/personality.

If a college student has been accused of violation of a Title IX violation, the accused (and their parents) should take the most logical step in addressing the charges by seeking excellent legal council and considering methods towards informal resolution, when possible.
