Heather is very professional. She listened and supported me when I was going through one of the hardest and stressful times. I would recommend her to anyone who is need of a family lawyer.

The situation I had was that the custodial needs and support weren’t very fair and I was consistently harassed and disrespected by my ex and his girlfriend. I seemed initially to have custody written just for a concrete order to eliminate the other parties inconsistencies with drop off and pick up. I was first advised to seek child support, and for this I did not need an attorney. I did so and my ex did have one in the support hearing. He ended up paying 400 less than needed because he stated he couldn’t work OT. I did not know that he would have to provide proof of this so I didn’t combat it. I scheduled a meeting immediately after my support hearing. I did express that I was pregnant and would want this situation resolved before I gave birth. I did request a change to my initial request to have 70/30 because my ex was only getting the kids for nightly visits two days a week to avoid paying more in support even though they spent all day with me and I bore the majority responsibilities involved with them. After multiple negative experiences with my ex, she changed the custody complaint without me asking to 50/50 request leading to me giving up time that I had. (Making him fully responsible for them the M and W that he was keeping them instead of him just getting them at 4 and dropping them off in the morning) after being ignored to change it twice, I tried and it was awful for me and the kids because they did not want to be away from me or have that change. The custody issue continued well after I had the baby even though I was very specific I didn’t want this to go on this long. After missed appointments, missed deadlines, and my questions/concerns being completely ignored. I finally just googled my best options and requested my own custody terms, keeping the same unfair schedule because I was tired of hurting my kids and the stress was awful after having the baby. I had really no legal support that I was paying for. I felt very forgotten and pushed aside. I’m not sure if they were overwhelmed with cases, but I wish they would have turned me away instead of charging me 5K+ to be ignored the majority of the time. I gave two stars because they were always friendly when I did speak to them. I just didn’t feel like I got the service I paid for at all.

How can I begin to express my gratitude to the woman who saved my children and I? Heather is brilliant and a true fighter, but I think the best part is that she genuinely cares, most importantly, about the children involved. She will do everything to protect and defend children. She took a terrible divorce and custody situation that other attorneys told me was hopeless and she defended my little family until we got the best result for my children. Every time I celebrate a holiday and my babies are there with me, healthy and thriving I thank God for getting me in contact with Heather. She is not intimidated by bully ex-spouses or their aggressive attorneys. Even when my ex and his attorney were unethical, Heather said it was important to remain "above board." This was difficult for me when my ex was trying to taint me in the eyes of the legal system, but ultimately, Heather was right. It's also the little things, like when I was testifying at the custody hearing and was extremely nervous, Heather smiled and winked at me throughout my time on the stand to let me know I was doing well. That seemingly simple gesture allowed me to get through a very challenging process. If you want the best, most compassionate and brilliant legal mind, definitely call Heather. I will forever be grateful for her!
