In all honesty I am more than grateful for Todd. Finding an honest, fair and good attorney is hard. I am so lucky I found Todd through my friend. He goes above and beyond to ensure you are protected. He is a true "bull dog" attorney that will guard you and educate you on how to continue to protect yourself. He is hands down the BEST!! words can't begin to express how amazing they are. Absolutely a phenomenal law firm hands down!.

Nurick Law Group handled my divorce, custody, support and alimony. It’s an expensive process and our divorce was especially difficult. Mr. Nurick and his firm watched over my budget but more importantly protected me and my children. I can’t say enough about these guys. Thank you!

Attorney Nurick and his attorneys assisted me through a horrible divorce process with my ex-husband. Divorce, custody, child support and alimony. They were not just thorough but they were so caring during such a difficult period in my life. This kind of representation and treatment is what we should all expect of attorneys. Thank you!

I am a Professional Investigator. I have dealt with Mr. Nurick on numerous occasions. He is one of the most professional and task oriented Attorney's I have ever dealt with. His level of integrity and experience is beyond reproach. A true gentleman. I have NEVER had issues with communication, financial responsibility or dishonest requests. He doesn't take shortcuts. When you read about someone unhappy with an attorney, it's usually because they lacked the evidence to prove their case- especially in Domestic issues. No one is happy in divorce. I bet Jeff had unrealistic expectations and embellished his version of events. NO LAWYER could have made him happy. You can't believe what he wrote. The sad thing is Mr. Nurick can't release his side of the matter.

After I was involved in a motorcycle accident, I was ignored by Dr's and ins. companies. Because I am a father and a grandfather I could not give up hope. At least 8 months went by and my life was completely dead. I basically existed. Then I found Todd B. Nurick. He handled my situation exactly how I wanted. I finally was getting the help that I needed from the right Dr's and therapists. Although I am permanently disabled, people can hardly notice just by looking at me. My recovery was very hard to get through but I could never have gotten this far without having found proper councel. I am very fortunate to have Todd's proffesional help.

I recently experienced a complicated situation with my former employer, and Mr. Leavitt was kind enough to guide me through several courses of action I could take. Very informative, highly professional and ultimately saved me from a lot of unnecessary angst. I felt heard and understood. 10/10; highly recommend reaching out to the Anderson Leavitt firm if you’re looking for compassionate, prompt and professional legal help.

Had the pleasure of working closely with Doug Leavitt on a Real Estate deal. The transaction almost fell apart a number of times. Thankfully, Doug's expertise and patience saved it and we had a smooth settlement. I highly recommend Mr. Leavitt, and look forward to working with him again.

My wife and I retained Doug’s services to assist with a shareholder dispute involving my family business and my sibling. After many years in business I decided it was time to move on and needed professional legal advice on the best way to proceed. Doug understood the complexity and sensitivity of the matter and carefully explained the various legal options available to remedy this matter. In addition, he provided guidance and assistance with the sale of inventory and property. We found Doug to be extremely practical, business minded, caring and more importantly, responsive. If faced with a “business divorce” I would highly recommend his services.

Got connected through a prepaid legal service to do a will. I put this off until the very end of the year when the benefit was about to run out, but Atty. Idell assured me he'd see it through to completion. Despite my repeated mistakes in filling out the form, we were able to get it finished while I was still covered. Kept us informed throughout the process and spoke with both my wife and I on multiple occasions to make sure we understood all scenarios. Very satisfied and a pleasant experience overall.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
