We hired Lavant and were impressed by his record from Philadelphia, he made it sound like we had an open and shut case. He said we could not get a better defense in Pa. He had us pay extra for 2 investigators that produced nothing. He talked about how he was so much smarter than the district attorney and there was a reason they were where they are. In the beginning he was very involved with us and slowly lost interest in our case. At the end we could rarely get a return call or text from him. When we went to trial he didn’t seem to have any preparation for cross examination and absolutely no closing argument, I was shocked. His client is doing many years for a felony that should have been a misdemeanor. We are now under appeal with a good attorney. Do not hire this attorney!

I strongly recommend The Foley law firm to anyone in need of legal assistance. Tom Jr and the Foley team, are exemplary in every aspect of law and client care. Throughout a 5 year battle with the defendants (which was no fault at all to Foley law firm) Mike and his Father Tom jr Kevin, Laura and Michelle maintained strong communication and never left me in the dark. The Foley law firm is very transparent and will go above and beyond by any means necessary to ensure you are taken care of. They not only won my case, but they were able to get me over $1M! If I ever need legal assistance in the future, Foley Law Firm is the only law firm I will contact and would implore anyone else, to do the same.

Be very careful with this attorney! Make sure you check with other attorneys in the area for the cost of a case similar to yours. He definitely over charges! He must think he is still in Philadelphia. Reels you in with big talk and after you sign on he “implores” you to take a plea deal even if your innocent. Then has the nerve to get mad at you when you refuse the plea. What’s the point in paying thousands of dollars for a lawyer to fight your case for you if he is just going to beg you to take a plea deal. Seriously you can do that for free. We did go to trial! He did not present all of our evidence and was still found not guilty. And he wanted me to take a plea deal where I was looking at many many years in prison. All I can say is WOW! Hope this helps. Good luck!

This Guy! Where do I even start? This is going to be a long one. I “IMPLORE” you to read this in its entirety. Being middle aged and never been in any type of trouble in our lives, we found ourselves in need of a serious lawyer. My husband came into some legal trouble with the Attorney General over the Lackawanna County Prison Sex Scandal. We looked into a few lawyers, one who was going to charge us 17,000.00 dollars to take it to trial. Unfortunately it would have been a conflict of interest for him so he was unable to take our case. That lawyer referred us to Robert Levant who was relatively new to the Scranton Area. We did our research on him and learned he practiced in Philadelphia and was seemingly successful. We contacted him and had a consultation to discuss our situation. Wow! We were impressed! We wanted him!!!! He explained to us that a case like this would cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Now keep in mind the first lawyer (and I have that contract) said 17,000.00 dollars. We explained to him we just don’t have that kind of money. We wanted the best lawyer we can afford that knew his business. So he explained he would think about it and call us in a few hours. We went home and prayed that this lawyer would call us and say he will take our case for a amount we can afford. Well our prayers were answered, he called and said he can take the case for 50,000 dollars. Now we knew that was still a Philadelphia price for a Scranton area but we didn’t care we wanted the best. We signed on and started moving forward with this case. Before my husband was even arrested he took a polygraph test and passed, we provided countless information to Mr. Levant that proved my husbands innocence. He pumped us up in the beginning of our relationship with how crazy this is, he will win this, he may even have it dismissed before trial etc. We felt good, excited and confident in this mans ability. So we let him get to work. As time went on things started to change. Not being familiar with the way the whole justice system works, we took it as this is just the process. He continued my husbands case on three different occasions with no valid reason. Started making comments to us like this case is more complicated than we think. We really started feeling uneasy with the way he started coming off. He did not seem like that confident lawyer we first met. We felt like we were now getting a run around from him. He left us with no choice but to get the NAACP involved to insure he is doing right by us which he was completely against. We requested all the information in regards to my husbands case so we can review it thoroughly to see for ourselves what he was so concerned about. There was nothing concerning whatsoever. We started feeling like he was working more with the prosecutors than us. When we stressed our concerns to him , his response was “ if you’re not confident in me and trust me then you might want to get another lawyer” knowing we gave him all of our money and wouldn’t be able to do so. We butted heads for awhile and it came down to us telling him to NOT continue my husbands trial date again. We want this over and done with it’s been 3 years in total and a year and half of that time dealing with him. Well from that point on which was about another 3 months to my husbands trial date, all he did was try to get my innocent husband to take a plea deal. We were shocked! We did not pay this man 50,000 dollars to take a plea deal. Hell we could have did that for free!!!!! His words “ I implore you to take a plea deal” We stressed to him the attorney general can come knock on our door and give us a parking ticket and we are not taking it. We kindly asked him to not bother us with plea deals any longer and to focus on going to trial. He was actually mad we didn’t want to take a plea. Weird! Day of trial already stressed to the max, this guy doesn’t even greet us at the courthouse. Didn’t present all of our evidence. Still Not guilty verdict!
