Pros
1
Highly experienced, compassionate, and dedicated attorney who goes above and beyond for his clients
“It was an absolute honor to have a man like Phillip represent me during a time in my life that was extremely difficult. He treated me as if I were his number one priority, and always made himself available to talk.”
2
Strong trial skills and ability to achieve favorable outcomes, even in high-profile, complex cases
“The way he articulated was so immaculate. The way he questioned the victim and other witnesses made it impossible to escape the actual truth. They say 'the truth shall set you free' They need to rephrase the saying to 'The truth or Philip Masorti shall set you free' I was found NOT GUILTY by the jury and Phil is getting my record expunged.”
3
Excellent communication and responsiveness, always available to address client concerns
“He kept us in the loop by email or telephone regarding all court proceedings. I could call or email him and he always returned the call; even when he was on vacation with his family.”
4
Established relationships and connections within the local legal system that benefit clients
“He is not only a good lawyer, but he knows the local judges and D.A. personally, which allows him to work deals that other lawyers wouldn't be able to do, even if they could think of them.”
5
Compassionate and caring approach, treating clients like family
“He handled our son's case as if he was defending his own son facing all of these trials and tribulations. I could call or email him and he always returned the call; even when he was on vacation with his family.”

A lifesaver may seem to be a strong word, but it is not when you are facing a felony record for life any potential jailtime. When facing a serious case which could have resulted in a felony record, out of talking to at least 10 lawyers, Mr. Masorti stood out the most. His intelligence, grace, and dedication will protect you all the time at any time. He will do work without ever giving you tension, with you not even realizing the work he is putting into the case. Out of multiple charges that would have made me a felon, Mr. Masorti was able to get everything downgraded to one single misdemeanor charge, that after one year of the ARD program (pre-trial invertion, probation) that only required a court check in online once a month, would get expunged. He stands out in my mind as THE most impressive lawyer I have ever met. You cannot go wrong and will never question your decision in choosing Mr. Masorti.

Masorti Law Group is a firm that I would recommend to anyone looking for legal advice. Philip is an extremely approachable, friendly, and professional lawyer who will look out for you like you're family. I got in trouble for a felony level crime while on ARD and Philip managed to get me an extended ARD sentence instead of jail/prison time. He is compassionate and extremely driven to help his clients, and will also keep you informed and updated every step of the way. I can not advocate enough for the legal services of Masorti Law Group.

Phil is a very professional and well known attorney in State College who went out above and beyond for me with my case. You can tell right off the bat that he is a very intelligent and outgoing lawyer. Phil seems to know everyone in State College/ Centre County and everyone knows him. Phil has given me much legal relief and I am confident in saying that he will work on any cases he accepts with ferocity and will get you the best legal results possible. When you catch yourself in a difficult legal situation, you want to have Phil Masorti in your corner to protect you. Plain and simple.

Phil is a wonderful attorney, a friend, and overall person. During my case, he made sure that I knew what was going on with every step. Whenever I felt uneasy, he always had a way of subsiding those feelings and reassuring me that everything was going to be okay. Phil always looked out for my best interest and made sure that all accommodations were met. Over the course of the case, we developed a very great relationship that stemmed outside of just business. He helped get me a resolution that will ultimately lead to the expungement of charges and sealing of my records. I wish nothing but the best for Phil and that he continues his great work because he is a great human being. Whether he knows it or not, I learned a lot from just being in his presence and observing his meticulous methodology.

Philip helped calm me down after the police got in contact with me. Afterwards he assured me that he would fight for me to get into ARD. With his help I entered the program. Philip is currently helping me get into a summer program abroad. We have not fully discussed final price so I'm not sure whether he was worth the money spent. Will update review once it is hashed out.

We reached out to Mr. Rehmeyer about a lawsuit. He spent considerable time on the phone reviewing the case with us and helping to address any fears we may have had. Given some of the factors involved, he did not feel he was best suited to handle the case. Even though he did not take the case, he went above and beyond to help us. He reached out to multiple friends of his who are attorneys, to help us find someone who would be a good match. This is a testament to his integrity and speaks to what type of person he is. He is extremely responsive, and it is clear he is an incredibly hard worker who is very knowledgeable. He must have spent at least 10 hrs. assisting us. The one time I called his office, the staff there were extremely friendly as well. If you are looking for an attorney in the Central PA area I would definitely give Mr. Rehmeyer a call. He was very highly recommended to us and he surpassed our expectations in terms of his generosity and expertise.

I had a slip and fall case, I didn't know what to do. I chose to go with a very well known and advertised law firm. The kind where "There's no fee, unless we get money for you". Well, they treated me as just a number and didn't even take my case after review. So I decided to reach out to Andy. A local attorney that took the time to actually sit down and listen to me. He took on my case, and in the end, we won. One of the most important things to me was how honest he was, very straight forward and did not stear me wrong or cloud anything in any way. informative at every step, easy to talk to and understand. I have never had a better attorney. Honestly. I'd recommend this law firm to anyone above any else. The help, honesty, time, and even the courage to take my case is greatly appreciated to me.

Andy is a knowledgeable and professional attorney who represented me in an auto accident case. His expertise in often convoluted insurance matters was recognized immediately - Andy is an experienced personal injury attorney who I felt confident in upon leaving the initial consultation. Andy worked quickly and around my schedule to resolve my case. Both Andy and his partner Julian Allatt are very personable which made the process of working with an attorney much easier, as this was the first time in my life where I required an attorney for civil litigation. I would recommend working with Rehmeyer & Allat if you are in need of representation.

Attorney Tim Fleming is someone who I would recommend to anyone. I ended up with an issue where the PA Dept of Transportation suspended my Drivers License in error. Attorney Fleming expertly helped me walk back a very complicated series of events and win the case. Thank you to him for a wonderful and caring experience throughout a very stressful situation.

Having no experience with the criminal justice system and being in our mid 60's we asked our Farming organization for a referral and hired an attorney in Harrisburg who did not communicate with us and did not know the law and certainly did not know the Centre County justice system. After being fed up we looked at reviews and Tim's stood out. We asked for a consultation and in minutes Tim understood the issue and formulated a strategy. Tim spent an entire hour with us and would not charge us. However, Tim did not take our case because we were in the process past the preliminary hearing stage. I wish we would have found Tim from the beginning. He offered great advise that our attorney would not take and he offered to talk to our attorney if he would call him for advise on the Centre County personalities. Hire Tim, he knows the system, has great strategies, returns calls and explains everything. We wish we would have known what to look for in an attorney but we were scared so we took a bad recommendation. Now my husband will be pleading guilty for raising animals in the wettest year on record in a natural way that face book people found offensive and we simply can't afford to go on with this criminal justice process that is anything but just and is unbelievably expensive and has put us under incredible stress, worry and fear that has harmed our health and well being.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of State College, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
