Had gotten a DUI at the end of junior year. Was having many concerns because I had gotten an internship across the country in a state were I needed to drive to work every day. He was able to push my court dates back until senior year, so I would be able to have my license for my first internship. This gave me peace of mind! And my internship never found out about my DUI. Come senior year, he was able to get me ARD and my license was only suspended in PA for less then 6 months when it was supposed to be more. Considering all the substances (CLASS I included) in my body at the time arrested, this was great news. Ronald Saupe then took care of my expungement process. I graduated from college and considering I travel for work a lot, Ronald Saupe has been very patient with me and how long I take to respond sometimes. He said he mailed me my expungement papers (at my mother’s address) but they were returned to him. I did see that email the same day and gave him a new address (and offered if he can scan them and email them to me), and I still never received them. I will contact him today again via email and ask for them again. This is the last important thing I need so I can forget about this incident. This was all done for a reasonable price too!

Got me into ARD program, although he never guaranteed it he was pretty confident and cool. Was very responsive and helped consult free before being hired. Would recommend to anyone in State College and for the price is the best you can find. Thanks Mr. Saupe

Ron helped me with a very very complex business deal that had many moving parts. I was extremely impressed with his promptness, professionalism, and knowledge. He made himself available outside of business hours and on weekends for my unique situation. He was vested in protecting my interest and thoroughly explained everything to me, whether it was what I wanted to hear or not. His rate was affordable and very reasonable for his services. Ultimately he helped me execute a great business agreement and his services are world class. I highly recommend Ron's services.

I was having trouble with my previous landlord who was trying to charge me money for false fees and evicted me from the property. Ron represented me and I was very impressed with how much research and work he did in order to make sure I had a strong case. He charged an affordable rate and was very helpful throughout the entire process. The hearing went very well and the judgement worked out in my favor. If you need a lawyer in the State College area Ron Saupe is your guy!

Mr. Saupe was able to provide me with ARD when it had already been denied to me. He talked and argued with the DA's for over 2 hours during my pre trial hearing just to drop misdemeanors from my plea deal. The next time we talked he told me I had gotten ARD. The chances of this, considering the serious nature of the charges (one being a first degree misdemeanor), was very low. Yet he pushed them over the brink. For that, I thank him.

We reached out to Mr. Rehmeyer about a lawsuit. He spent considerable time on the phone reviewing the case with us and helping to address any fears we may have had. Given some of the factors involved, he did not feel he was best suited to handle the case. Even though he did not take the case, he went above and beyond to help us. He reached out to multiple friends of his who are attorneys, to help us find someone who would be a good match. This is a testament to his integrity and speaks to what type of person he is. He is extremely responsive, and it is clear he is an incredibly hard worker who is very knowledgeable. He must have spent at least 10 hrs. assisting us. The one time I called his office, the staff there were extremely friendly as well. If you are looking for an attorney in the Central PA area I would definitely give Mr. Rehmeyer a call. He was very highly recommended to us and he surpassed our expectations in terms of his generosity and expertise.

I had a slip and fall case, I didn't know what to do. I chose to go with a very well known and advertised law firm. The kind where "There's no fee, unless we get money for you". Well, they treated me as just a number and didn't even take my case after review. So I decided to reach out to Andy. A local attorney that took the time to actually sit down and listen to me. He took on my case, and in the end, we won. One of the most important things to me was how honest he was, very straight forward and did not stear me wrong or cloud anything in any way. informative at every step, easy to talk to and understand. I have never had a better attorney. Honestly. I'd recommend this law firm to anyone above any else. The help, honesty, time, and even the courage to take my case is greatly appreciated to me.

Andy is a knowledgeable and professional attorney who represented me in an auto accident case. His expertise in often convoluted insurance matters was recognized immediately - Andy is an experienced personal injury attorney who I felt confident in upon leaving the initial consultation. Andy worked quickly and around my schedule to resolve my case. Both Andy and his partner Julian Allatt are very personable which made the process of working with an attorney much easier, as this was the first time in my life where I required an attorney for civil litigation. I would recommend working with Rehmeyer & Allat if you are in need of representation.

Attorney Tim Fleming is someone who I would recommend to anyone. I ended up with an issue where the PA Dept of Transportation suspended my Drivers License in error. Attorney Fleming expertly helped me walk back a very complicated series of events and win the case. Thank you to him for a wonderful and caring experience throughout a very stressful situation.

Having no experience with the criminal justice system and being in our mid 60's we asked our Farming organization for a referral and hired an attorney in Harrisburg who did not communicate with us and did not know the law and certainly did not know the Centre County justice system. After being fed up we looked at reviews and Tim's stood out. We asked for a consultation and in minutes Tim understood the issue and formulated a strategy. Tim spent an entire hour with us and would not charge us. However, Tim did not take our case because we were in the process past the preliminary hearing stage. I wish we would have found Tim from the beginning. He offered great advise that our attorney would not take and he offered to talk to our attorney if he would call him for advise on the Centre County personalities. Hire Tim, he knows the system, has great strategies, returns calls and explains everything. We wish we would have known what to look for in an attorney but we were scared so we took a bad recommendation. Now my husband will be pleading guilty for raising animals in the wettest year on record in a natural way that face book people found offensive and we simply can't afford to go on with this criminal justice process that is anything but just and is unbelievably expensive and has put us under incredible stress, worry and fear that has harmed our health and well being.

I recommend Joe to anyone who needs legal assistance. Joe not only was a great lawyer and extremely successful in my case, he truly cared about me as a client and did anything and everything he could for my case. Unlike other lawyers, he even accepted phone calls at night and on the weekends. In 2013, I was arrested for public drunkeness and we walked out of the courtroom with a verdict that I wasn't even expecting. He was also able to get it expunged off of my record. He helped me more than I could have even asked for, to say the least. Being a penn state student, I was very worried about how this was going to affect me academically, and Joe was able to give me a clean slate. I am more than thankful for Joe and what he did for me, and I would not reccomend any other lawyer in the State College area.

As an undergraduate at PSU I received a citation that required legal guidance. I reached out to Joe for representation in a time when he had much larger cases on his plate.....despite this, he took the time to call me, take my case, and explain the road ahead. When I had my day in court, Joe stepped up to the plate and we left the court room with the verdict I desired. Joe dedicated his heart and mind my case...despite it being on a much smaller scale than some of his other professional cases at the time. I highly recommend Joe.

Joe had previously helped a member of my family years ago. When I was facing serious charges of my own I contacted him right away. He immediately came to my assistance and reassured me that my case would be resolved in a favorable way. He did a fantastic job in several court proceedings for me. Always responded right away to any questions I had about my case. Joe is not just an excellent attorney but also cares about each and every one of his clients. Taking calls and emails at night and on weekends. I would reccomend Joe to anyone facing criminal charges. Couldn't have asked for a more caring, professional person to be by my side through the most difficult time.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of State College, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
