I highly recommend Michael! He helped my parents to obtain loan modification and stop foreclosure process.

I had a situation with old student loan balances being reflected on my credit reports. With Michael’s valuable advice, the bureaus finally corrected my information. Luckily I ended up not requiring his services further; however, should circumstances change in the future I wouldn’t hesitate to contact him again. Unlike other lawyers I contacted previously, Michael is extremely friendly, accessible, and responsive. He will take the time to listen and answer your questions.

I spoke with Michael about a mortgage company unjustly raising my family’s mortgage significantly and giving us different reasons each time we disputed their claims. I shared all of the details regarding the matter with Michael and he was super friendly and joking saying that he reviewed everything and I have a good case and we could sue them. Our goal was to stop the mortgage company from raising our monthly payments. He told me he wanted me to pay for the initial letter to the mortgage company first, to get the mortgage company to stick to one specific reason why they raised the payment, so that when we go to court the mortgage company would have to stick to whatever they responded with. He said once we get the response, we would sue and his fees would be contingent on a win. I should have known right there. First off the letter he wanted to send to the mortgage company was terrible. It had the wrong account number, the wrong company, and a lot of grammatical errors. I had to send it back corrected. As soon as I paid him, the friendliness stopped, he suddenly was always busy, and when the mortgage company finally responded providing us with the same details I already shared with him prior to hiring him, he said his unnamed “expert” told him the numbers are off just a little so they won’t be moving forward with anything. He made sure not to send me anything in writing about his opinion. When I asked him to explain what he thought the details of the letter the mortgage company sent meant, he said his "expert" looked at this for him and that he himself don’t understand it. Now I have to go hire a real attorney. Don't hire this guy. I would give zero stars if I could.

My second mortgage home debt had been purchased by a slimy investor guy. I attempted to negotiate with this investor to payoff what I owed. He would offer me payoff terms and arrangements but then not honor the amounts or the payment schedule discussed in a prior conversation. I did not trust this person. I contacted Michael, he consulted me about my goals and available funds. For a very reasonable flat fee Michael negotiated the terms of the payoff and insured the paperwork would hold the investor to the agreement. Even with Michael’s representation the slimeball investor did not file the satisfaction of mortgage for 4 months causing me a lot of anxiety. One email from Michael and the satisfaction was filed. It should also be noted that in the middle of my dealings with this investor Michael had open heart surgery. His staff carried the torch and as soon as Michael was able to work again he jumped right back in! If you are reading poor reviews for Michael it is likely they are from this investor and his associates. During the process of my negotiations I watched Michael’s ratings fall. Having Michael represent me made me feel protected against this slimy investor. I honestly consider his fee to be some of the best money I’ve ever spent. I am 100% a real client!

Mr Forbes starts off nice but beware, he is out for money just like all the other lawyer con artist !

My experiance working with Micheal has been amazing through the whole process. He works very hard and he is a great lawyer who gets results. When the mortgage company began screwing things up like switching my payments, I was at a loss with what to do. So, I took to the internet to find an attorney to help sort it all out. Having just completed law school, I was surprised at the kind of response one gets from simply looking around on the internet. A lot of attorneys say that they can help but as you delve deeper into conversation, it is easy to realize that they are willing to take a case even if it is not their expertise. Even though my case in no way has any promise of making a lawyer anymore than a normal wage, I received nothing less than the best legal defense. Michael armed our case with every possible legal defense, even if some aren't necessarily winners, overwhelming the bank's attentions. Well, it was quite the saga of trials. The bank withdrawing, then refiling and more trials which we won. Ten years of them to be exact. The whole decade Michael was with me step by step - actually checking in on me instead of visa versa. It is to be expected that Michael couldn't always be exclusively working just on my case over the years. However, when he was busy Nancy, his paralegal and wife, was always in constant communication caring just as much about my case as Michael- quite an impressive team indeed. Well, I'm sure what everyone wants to know - how did it all turn out? True to a good Michael's legal work, its technically confidential, but lets just say the bank is no longer an issue. Living in my house and the best life ever. I've owned a business for quite sometime which means I've had more than a few lawyers. There is none better than Michael Forbes.
