Fran Miller worked with us for almost a year on a family member’s complicated, criminal case. It was an A+ positive experience every step of the way. Fran has a heart for clients that struggle with mental health issues. He advised us of our legal rights related to mental illness throughout the year. In two emergency situations, he spoke with us on a weekend. At all other times, he responded to emails and phone calls very promptly. The people in his office were also pleasant and helpful. From the minute we hired Fran until now, even after the case is over, we felt much less alone in sorting out and managing an intricate legal situation. In addition to top notch communication, Fran is a very sharp attorney that pays attention to critical details. As usual in a preliminary hearing, some of the redundant charges were dropped. But there was one charge for something that simply did not happen. Fran was able to prove this and the charge was dropped. Another example is that he waded through 300 pages of medical records and found a single reference that resulted in another major charge being dropped. These two acts saved our loved-one years of additional jail time and enormous fees. Just one more example came when he astutely picked up on a complainant’s effort to commit fraud against us. Again, saving our loved-one thousands of dollars. One of the biggest difficulties when a loved-one is facing legal charges is the fear and uncertainty about their future. Fran has a thorough knowledge of the legal system and the workings of county court systems. This enabled him to keep us grounded in what kind of an outcome we could anticipate. Establishing these realistic expectations made the process more palatable to the client and we, the family. After the case was settled, Fran still inquired about our loved-one’s well-being.
