This was the 2nd time I used him during an assessment appeal and both times he submitted the best possible evidence as to why they should lower it and both times it was a success. I would highly recommended him and will definitely be passing his name around!!!

He hates veterans and hard working people. He goes out of his way to sue disabled veterans.

In the midst of dedicating my efforts to a cause as crucial as helping individuals recover from substance abuse, I found myself inadvertently overlooking some administrative aspects of my business, including the formal dissolution of my LLC and the update of its registered agent details. This oversight led me to an interaction with David M. Tkacik, Esq. from the Tkacik Law Office, which turned out to be remarkably uplifting. David’s response to my situation was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite my lapse, which left his name as my registered agent longer than intended, he approached the matter with an understanding and patience that is rare. In the world of legal services, where the focus is often on strict adherence to agreements and the accrual of fees, David stood out by recognizing the human side of my mission. He saw the earnestness in my efforts to rectify my mistake and chose to waive the CROP fees for 2023 and 2024. This act of generosity was a testament to his character and a significant relief to me as I continued my work in the substance abuse recovery field. David’s approach challenges the typical narrative surrounding lawyers. His kindness, patience, and willingness to support his clients beyond the mere letter of the law exemplify a level of empathy and integrity that is both inspiring and deeply appreciated. This experience has not only helped me in a practical sense but has also restored my faith in the power of understanding and goodwill in professional relationships. For anyone looking for legal assistance, especially those navigating their entrepreneurial journey with a focus on making a societal impact, I wholeheartedly recommend David Tkacik and his firm. They represent the best of what the legal profession can offer—expertise, yes, but also a remarkable capacity for kindness and support that goes beyond expectations. Warm regards, Michael Kavanagh

David Tkacik represented me to appeal my property assessment in Allegheny County. Through out the entire process, he kept me updated what is going on. Best of all we won the appeal and we saved over a thousand dollars on the property tax! The service charge is contingent upon winning and is very reasonable. Highly recommended!

I turned to Brooke after hiring another firm to initiate my divorce, however that firm failed miserably and took thou$and$ of dollars. Sadie immediately went to work on my case, filing only necessary motions, arguing what needed to be done, and getting it done. She did in 8 months what my previous firm failed to do over 3 years, and at half the cost. My divorce was resolved fairly and reasonably with McMorrow Law there every step of the way. I've worked with attorneys my entire career and would absolutely recommend McMorrow Law.

Brooke helped us with a difficult family issue Complicating the issue was the fact that it was an interstate issue but Brooke prevailed. We never felt as though she wasn’t completely involved in solving our problem. She was in constant contact with us and while the issue became more complicated as she progressed, she never lost a step. She pitched a perfect game.

This review is unique in that Brooke represented my husband in divorce proceedings. The lawyer I hired, Deborah Iwanyshyn, I could fill this page with complaints, but this is about Brooke. I feel Brooke kept interest in what is best and fair with both parties in my divorce. After dismissing my lawyer, I was able to speak with Brooke and she wasted no time in completing the process. I got replies to emails in the same day with the up most professional responses. I believe Brooke truly cares about her clients and gets a 5 star in my review!

I contacted Casey about something I was dealing with professionally and she very quickly gave me the overview of the important legal issues involved. I ended up not pursuing the matter further because of what I learned from talking to her, saving me a great deal of money and frustration in the process!

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Wexford, Pennsylvania?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
