It's not very complicated, if you are coming out of a marriage where gaslighting and silent treatment have been the norm this is not the law firm you want.

If you have money to throw away then you should hire Ed Roy, otherwise find another attorney. He comes across as a nice guy. I listened in on a conference call that he had with the "other" attorney and it was embarrassing and frustrating. He did nothing more than agree with everything they said. He was not aggressive at all, he was passive. I could have handled that call better myself. I threw my money away by hiring him. He tells you he has ways around your situation to help you. When the time came to use those ways around, he didn't have any. He became very arrogant with me the client that hired him. His final recommendation to me was to do exactly what I was fighting. He didn't even bother to call me on the phone and did no follow up to his recommendation. He becomes very insulting and rude. When we first met he told me he was working for me and would do anything I wanted. His attitude changed after I hired him. Needless to say he was not the right attorney to handle my case. He just wasted my time and my hard earned money. If you want someone to be aggressive, I recommend you find a different attorney. Don't waste your time or money here there are plenty of attorneys out there.Unfortunately I spent my money on the wrong one which just added insult to injury! This my opinion based on a bad experience with this attorney.

Geri and her paralegal Kerrin are the BEST. 2 very caring, knowledgeable, and legally savvy gals. Anxiety and stress can wreak havoc on you mentally and physically when going through the family court system. Do not expect overnight results in a custody battle. What you can expect from them is good advice, good direction, and results. (and at a reasonable price) Kerrin ALWAYS answers the phone and takes time to listen during business hours. I’ve called and emailed Geri at all hours of the day and night and always received a response by the end of the day. Let me tell you something you may not know, but will soon learn once you have entered Rhode Island’s biggest failure to date: the Family Court system. You will soon learn how priceless it is to have a responsive attorney. I’ve had many attorneys in my day. NONE respond with answers as fast as Geri does. I highly recommend Geralyn Cook. And lastly, to any parent reading this. Love your children and put them before anything else in life.Never ever stop fighting for them. And most importantly, do not take any time you have with them for granted.

Geralyn (Geri) represented me after my now ex-husband filed for divorce. Geralyn was fantastic, she explained everything, always asked for my thoughts, needs and concerns. Geralyn was patient, kind and compassionate every time we talked, but she was a force to be reckoned with when dealing with my controlling ex and his lawyer and she never backed down or stopped fighting for me and my sons. Geralyn and her paralegal Kerrin are hardworking, knowledgeable and put their clients best interest front and center.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Waste of time and MONEY! These attorneys couldn’t get you out of a traffic ticket if their lives depended on it. Most painful experience of my life. Please listen to me, if you are in search of legal representation run from this firm as soon as you pull into their parking lot. STAY AWAY!

I have so many great things to say about Geralyn Cook and her staff that it would take me all day to write. When I say out of all the lawyers I’ve had for my custody/divorce battle Geralyn Cook was by far the best! The one thing she never did was give up.
