My first post on my situation that led me to hire Nick Parrillo and Marin and Barrett, Inc. is below the line. I’ve been wanting to add this tidbit. My lawyer told me that the judge would ask me how I wanted to plead. The lawyer told me to plead “innocent”. However when I stood before the judge and he asked me how I plead on trespassing, I froze! I can’t lie!! I did actually trespass! As I stood frozen my lawyer saw my predicament and spoke, “not guilty, your honor.” Thank God Marin, Barrett and Murphy was there. My case should never have gotten to the point of hiring lawyers. It never should have come to the point of me being arrested for trespassing on YMCA property. It NEVER should have had a court date set. A simple 20 minute conversation between a Lincoln YMCA employee and myself would have cleared up the problem immediately. However, the Lincoln YMCA in their infinite stupidity decided they needed to make mockery and an example of me, for some reason? The story, as I said, is below the line. Thank God for Nick Parrillo and Marin and Barrett for unraveling the YMCA stupidity and getting my case dismissed and record expunged. Breathe.... (my version of short) "The easiest thing in the world is to denounce the evil doer, the most difficult thing is to understand him." ~Dostoyevski This story is about me (the evil doer according to this gym) attempting to gain understanding from them. What I received instead was to be arrested and brought to court. I belonged to a gym (the name of which I'll not say) and I hired a personal trainer for the first time in my 71 years of living. I signed up for 9 sessions, which I figured it would take 9 weeks. It took her 5 months to give me 6 sessions. I criticized her, maybe a little strongly without swearing at all, through a text message. She ran to the management and they banned me without even asking my side of the story. They sent word through out the organization that no one should speak to me. Ghosted by the whole organization! In my desperate NEED to be heard I wrote out the story in a letter and left it on the trainers car because I didn't know her email or address and this seemed the safest way to communicate. I was arrested the next day for trespassing and given a court date. YIKES!! I had never even seen the inside of a police station...ever. Not even a parking ticket in 15 years. People advised me to deal with this on my own? Can I? "If you have yourself as a lawyer, you have a fool for a client!"~Abe Lincoln. Should I google "how to deal with a trespassing charge". There are online Rocket Lawyers I could go to. What the hell should I do...it was eating me up. I needed professional help. I found Nick Parrillo at Marin and Barrett's website. I sat with them for 20 minutes. My heart rate and breathing settled as they assured me all would be well. They knew exactly what to do. I had my court date and the judge dismissed the case. The court started at 9:00am and I was out by 9:30. Wheww.!! Then Nick sent me a note asking if I wanted to have my record expunged. YES!! Amazing what can happen when a professional who knows the inside and out of the law is helping. Hiring them was the best thing!
