Matt is an excellent lawyer to hire if you face a DUI or criminal charge in Rhode Island. He takes cases through the State and is very well respected by judges and prosecutors. Thankfully I have not had to use Attorney Macktaz for a DUI charge and hopefully never will, however I have used his services in another matter, a civil one, and can attest to his professionalism, skill, and ethics in that particular case and highly recommend him for any legal matter you may have.

To make a long story short, on February 6th 2014 I was charged with a DUI. I was in a car accident, was rushed to the hospital and agreed to give a blood sample. To my horror the results came in reflecting that my blood alcohol was a .19 !!! I felt hopeless. I knew I needed the best layer possible to help me with my situation. I selected Matt to represent a client of mine after reading reviews on his website. To be honest, everything was better than anticipated. Matt's professionalism, client & court preparation, realistic approach and communication were excellent. In summary, we decided to appeal an unfavorable District Court decision ( that was due to fabricated witness statements) and won in Superior Court with a Jury Trial.
