I met Chris on July 25,2023, he represented our daughter concerning our grandson and his biological father. This case also involved back Child Support and Daycare Services. I cannot overstate the confidence this Lawyer possesses. I had a case using a couple Attorneys where it just seemed like this is being dragged out for the them to profit. Not Chris! He came right in, and conquered the case immediately. He had the respect of the courts, judges, and other Atternony's that changed my case completely around. Chris not only understands the legal system tremendously, but, his experience and understanding of the overall system in Rhode Island made his competition submit. Chris really fights the fight. I hired Chris 5 years ago for a divorce and he really took the time to understand what I wanted and came through. He did not let the other attorney get away with his antics and ensured I got what was fair. Fast forward to 2023 when we had to be back in court. Chris was right back at it. He was quick in reviewing the findings and perusing what was required by the other party. The judges have a respect for him because of his knowledge and understanding of the law and what was best for our son. Things wrapped up quickly with a huge win. I hope not to need his services again but know he is the go-to in fighting for what is right and not playing around.

C A V E A T EMPTOR!!! The laziest, most inaccessible attorney. Wants the client to do 100% of the work (seems to be a pattern with Rhode Island lawyers I’ve worked with:( Impossible to communicate with literally and figuratively, rude as hell assistant Meredith- all they are good for is billing you for time where nothing was done. Believe what you read in other reviews, 💯 my same experience, I could have written each one!

I came to Chris at a very frustrating point in my divorce. He was able to look at the steps I’d taken and set me on a path that was going to get the ball moving and my divorce settled. Not only did he get me there (Cheers!) but he was able to do so in a way that was considerate of my Ex, keeping the peace while still doing what was necessary to get us to the end game. He was a pleasure to work with and if I ever need another attorney he’s the one Id recommend in a heartbeat!

Chris and his team has been exceptional in handling my divorce. It was a long process that required a personal touch in which Chris delivered in the most professional manner. Never at any time did I feel like I was not being represented properly. He was always there to answer any questions ether by phone or email, always putting my best interests first. I must admit that did my homework in researching the best lawyer that I could get in handling my situation, since my ex wife lives 3 states away. Chris's reputation and expertise always came on top. My experience with Chris was second to none. Even though my ex husband tried his best to complicate an already difficult situation, attorney Heberg made everything go as smoothly as possible. If it wasn't for the way Chris navigated and explained each step in the process, I would likely still be in court. He ensured the best possible outcome for my family, focusing on keeping my daughter's needs at the forefront while remaining fair and honest. It's a bonus that he's easy to talk to! My wife and I hired Chris in Aug 2022 to assist in getting custody of her 2 children. I was told from the beginning, if they were adopted we had no chance of getting custody of them. Before I signed the paperwork, I had him add a clause to the contract that said, if they were in fact adopted, he would return half of my $5,000 deposit. I was informed a few weeks later that the children were indeed adopted. At which point his assistant said, "you have a really good shot at winning custody back". Which was a lie. He knew we wanted custody, or we wanted nothing to do with pursuing a case. His assistant continued to lie and mislead us. My wife and I called Chris to discuss the adoption and our options. He swore at my wife twice in the phone call and denied it immediately after it happening. Unfortunately for him, the call was recorded. It is now November. The court case has been rescheduled 3 times. I was since informed that even though the children are adopted, and the contract says if that's the case we get our $2,500 deposit back....he will not be returning my money. This guy has literally only filed a court hearing. He has done nothing else. Yet somehow feels he's entitled to keeping $5,000 for a frivolous court case that I cannot win. He is an absolute snake. He's disrespectful, rude, arrogant and obnoxious. If my deposit isn't returned, he will be sued in small claims court and the audio of how he treats his "clients" will be put on the internet. If you have legal issues and have any hope of competent representation......you're dealing with the wrong "lawyer".

Do not hire this attorney for any reason. Hired him to represent for child support review. The court case dragged on for a year and a half, in all fairness due to the pandemic but I was billed constantly for document review and other miscellaneous charges. He would go to court on my behalf and not communicate any changes on my case. When I shared with him my frustrations, he basically said fine and told his paralegal to drop me as a client. Despite being charged an arm and a leg, he would often tell me that I had to research on my own and get back to him. Awful, arrogant, greedy and incompetent in almost every way for my case. Their office is awful. His main paralegal (or whatever she is) Is completely incompetent as well. Created way too many headaches as it seems she couldn't handle the simplest of tasks. Do not believe the reviews on Avvo or Google as they must be 100% fake. Since I put this on Google, ask yourself, why does each positive review have perfect spelling and grammar?
