MJ helped me with a real pickle of a situation with my children. Their Mom had been exposing them to extremely harsh conditions in many ways and they were being subjected to several different forms of abuse. It was an odd case with jurisdictional issues. After my initial consult with MJ, she did not hesitate! She was very professional and direct which let me know quickly that she knows her stuff! She was also relentless in her fight for my children and knew just the pressure points to push to get the reaction from the opposition that she was going for. Her rates are very fair and you definitely get what you pay for!!! I hope I never have to go back to family court again after this, but if i do, I know I want MJ Goodwin in MY corner!!!

(Child custody/Adoption) MJ was great from the moment I spoke to her! Even before I paid the retainer fee for her service! She answered all my questions and gave my wife and I hope! We had to wait awhile before we went to court but when we finally did go it wasn’t the outcome we were hoping for, but it wasn’t terrible either but MJ met with us afterwards and said just ride it out for a little while and the biological mom will hang her self with enough rope and today I am happy to say she did just that, no not literally hang her self but did mess up! We finally feel at peace! Thank you so much MJ for basically saving our daughter’s life!!

We filed during the covid 19 pandemic and our safety was put first. We were able to do most things over the internet and the judge granted us custody back without us even having to enter the court room. MJ has been with me through a year and a half long divorce and was absolutely wonderful in every way. Back story, came out as gay to my now ex-wife and she was less than receptive to say the least. We have two amazing children that also brought up a very difficult custody case. MJ and Joy were very responsive to any questions, comments, concerns, and angry remarks I had. She worked very, very hard to make sure that my rights with my kids were protected and that I received equal time with them. Finding a lawyer in a small southern area that was ok (really more than ok) with having a gay client was definitely a God-sent. I would greatly recommend her to anyone (especially in the LGBTQ+ community) going through a divorce or child custody battles.

Ms. Goodwin took my case for divorce and did a fabulous job. I reside out of state now, but it didn’t matter. She helped me every step of the way. Using the internet tools her office has set up made it seem like I was right there. She helped me with all the “hiccups” that happened. Then in the middle of it COVID 19 happened. Well MJ got my case heard via a virtual court hearing! Amazing! She represented me completely and got me my divorce during COVID 19! I will definitely recommend MJ to anyone looking for an attorney.
