We moved to South Carolina in 2021. We did not have any sort of will or estate plan prior to moving here. We attended a seminar with the Elder Law & Estate Planning Center, where Brian Treacy gave a very informative, folksy presentation on wills and estates. Given our assets, we decided a revocable trust would be in our best interest, and we made an appointment to meet with Brian. The first meeting was to outline what we wanted to create and the second meeting, about 6 weeks later, was to finalize and sign all documents. What I like about this firm is - estate law is all they do. They aren't a general practice legal firm who does a little bit of all kinds of law. I wanted a specialist, people who know the ins and outs of South Carolina laws as they pertain to wills and estates. The fees were reasonable (didn't really have anything to compare costs to) but I am sure they are far, far less than fees our heirs would incur if we died intestate. Highly recommended!
