Although I have heard good things about Mary Murray herself, I have had the very unfortunate experience of recently dealing with her associate attorney Keely Carter. Keely attempts to overcompensate for her inexperience with a Napoleonic approach to her perceived authority. The insecurity she demonstrates and attempts to overcompensate for has no place in the role she (recklessly) plays in people's lives. The ease with which she can be manipulated and the resulted bias with which she operates can at very least be described as a dereliction of duty. Having no experience with children herself, it only adds to the inexperience and insecurity described above. The result is a very unprofessional and dangerous combination should you find yourself in her care. My suggestion - look elsewhere.

Called to see if they could take my child support and was told they're not taking those currently, which is understandable. Later I was referred to this Law office from my job's resources and they did seem to look into a little more into it but didn't seem open to the idea. I was met with phrases like "that's not how that works", after explaining when the hearing was and that i could request an extension for more time. And " we're in Charleston." After letting them know where the hearing is being held, after I was told that they do practice in Colleton County. Overall, the receptionist or whoever answers the phone was curt and rude. Will not be recommending this Law firm, and will be requesting Law Point to remove them since it seems customers are a bother.

I'm exactly a year post divorce with Mary Murray and team by my side. If you are reading this review you are probably in a fog, like I was going through in my divorce. The guidance and advice of Mary was key in a speedy divorce to begin my new life. She was very knowledgeable in the divorce laws of South Carolina and was quick to guide me through a very emotional time in my life. I highly recommend her services for you to find your voice again and have a happier life.

Mary Murray misinformed me, resulting in further abuse to my autistic child by her father. CPS informed me that I could have reported him almost a year earlier, after he beat her with a wooden spoon, as use of an object is considered abuse in SC. However, Mary informed me that the beating was corporal punishment and that I had no rights in place to protect her at that time, despite additional video evidence I presented of violent and "extreme" (labeled by DSS) verbal abuse, as well. Leaving her in her father's care eventually led to more abuse, finally ending with a public punch in the face and bloody nose, followed by severe berating and bullying. Thanks to the doctor's call to CPS, I've finally been correctly informed of my legal rights in this regard. Also, I was honest on my intake that I had very little personal funding and she made several references during our consultation, that "it would be very expensive." I never flinched at those comments, because while personally I don't have an impressive bank account, I'm surrounded by family that does and is ready and willing to help. I just contacted Mary to inform her that DSS has intervened in my favor and to find out our next move, to be told she was not currently taking new clients and that I would need to find a different attorney and start all over. When I saw her in 6/22, I paid the consultation fee to begin the process and she told me at that time that I was her client. Beware, she obviously has no other interest than money.

Mary is a true professional that I would highly recommend. She mediated the resolution of a very horrendous case and did so efficiently and thoroughly. I was very happy with my family law attorney, but I would have absolutely chosen to work with Mary as an alternate had I known of her. She is direct , knowledgeable, and rational with a comforting demeanor. She is also a GAL and I wish more than anything I had known of her option before I was subjected to the nightmare that was our assigned GAL.

I highly recommend Mary Murray. She is competent, compassionate and ethical. There is no one better in town.

Attorney Keely Carter handled my custody case, she was very thorough in all her work and kept me informed at all times as the case had proceeded, she also worked very hard in helping me gain full custody of my children.. I would highly recommend this law firm if you need a family attorney!

Going through a divorce might possibly be the worst thing that happens in your life. Mary and her staff will guide you through the process and explain everything in great detail. This firms compassion, knowledge and professionalism got me through this awful time with the best possible outcome. You will never be left in the dark. They are quick to respond to all of your questions and concerns. I was awarded the family home and primary custody of my child. These were the two most important factors in my divorce and Mary and Keely accomplished both of those goals with the odds against us. I urge you to make the initial call. As I said, divorce is an awful experience so it is important for you to align yourself with the best of the best!

Keely Carter did an amazing job handling the multitude of issues and aspects surrounding the divorce and custody battle my family was going through. She is responsive, professional, does a great job explaining what will be pertinent (or not pertinent) to the case, and helped keep us organized and on track throughout one of the most stressful possible times, and she helped to get us to the best possible resolution! We are so grateful we were referred to Keely and Mary, and we would definitely refer them to anyone who is going through a divorce or custody situation.

Initial call spoke to a Paralegal. She did not want to listen and kept interrupting as a potential client was expressing elements of case. Not a very good look at all. Hopefully the bad apple doesnt spoil the whole barrel.

Mary handled a nasty divorce for me. I am definitely a handful and she handled me! Kept me in check and got me trough with great success. Her and the rest of her firm are the absolute best. While I hope I do not need her again, I have her saved in case I ever do. Thank you Mary for all you did!
