Nick has a way of making tough situations easier to go through. He treats everyone with dignity and respect. He is thorough and knowledgeable. In my case, the opposing party and counsel were making rather unreasonable demands. Nick suggested a course of action and the likely consequences and possible outcomes. Ultimately, the opposition came back with a very reasonable settlement only because Nick wanted the truth to come out. I recommend him. He will fight for you!

Nicholas and team worked tirelessly for me during my divorce, turning a frightening situation into a bearable moment. My ex, at first was willing to simply leave, then after consulting her attorney saw monetary compensation. Nick and his team worked hard for me dealing with her attorney, and at the end of the day made it simple and fair. She ended up leaving as initially desired since she cheated. He even led me down a path to not be bitter but rather have a simple and effective and divorce uncontested. Yes I had to wait a year, but it was worth it. My ex and myself both got what we wanted with minimal issues on my end. Nick even helped with a tax issue I had due to the divorce and it turned out in my favor. Nick took on an extremely difficult case for me that lasted over 3 years. In the courtroom and in negotiations his actions were nothing less than brilliant. Nick is an incredibly driven attorney who focused on the end game versus being caught up in the emotional back and forth that is usually associated with family court. Nick truly was my life saver. I was going through a horrible divorce and my previous lawyer abandoned me. I called Nick late on a Friday night and he in two days had me prepared for an emergency hearing which concluded better than I imagined. From that point on he guided me, supported me, and ultimately won me my divorce. There will never be enough words to describe my admiration and respect for what Nick represents. His passion for helping others is beyond measure. He knows the system and laws inside and out, yet is keen to what his clients need and is able to explain the process in laymen’s terms. Anyone can write a review or something positive that can be considered an opinion. But I wanted to share some facts of my ongoing divorce/custody battle. It initially started in 2006. 3 Previously hired attorneys, 2 Gaurdians, Over $60,000 dollars spent that only lead to 11 years of no result. I still believe and am grateful for everyone and their efforts. I was referred to Nick and was scared, questionable and had no faith in the family court laws. He was hired in 2017 and turned many painful trials into a beautiful testimony for my children and I. A 12 year nightmare was finally over. There is no specific number of reviews or dollar amount that I could ever give that would equal what he gave me back.

If you are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable, professional, and fair lawyer, Mr. Mermiges is the one for you! Nick was absolutely great during our case! He was always professional and knowledgeable. Nick helped my husband and I to continue to have custody of our nephew, that had been living with us for 4 years, under the de facto custodian law. The de facto custodian law was not something we were familiar with until contacting Nick. He explained it to us and let us know it was possible to continue providing our nephew with a safe and stable environment legally, even though neither of us were a biological parent to the child. Those words were such a relief to my husband and I! Nick was always up-front with us about the different possible outcomes/scenarios and what he expected the outcome would be. He always kept us well informed of things happening with our case and always steered us in the right direction. He never wanted us to be surprised with any outcomes, requests, or fees associated with our case. It is hard to describe in words how grateful and appreciative I am of having Nick Mermiges as my lawyer. I have never met a lawyer as passionate and dedicated to family law as Nick.
