This law firm may be a good choice if you are a local to the area, the staff were friendly and responsive. My serious issue is the law firms policies. I sold my house while out of state, and because I am a service member my job did not allow me to return to the area to complete the sale, so my obligations mean nothing it seems. The law firm policies will not allow any wire transfers (they said due to fraud), however, I could have had the bank verify with whatever means the law firm required and they still refused. Second, when we asked for an exception and to please work with me they refused, all the way up to the owner. When I was told they would only overnight a check I had to ask to add a signature requirement; otherwise, a 5 figure check was just going to be sent and left outside, which is their normal procedure. I don't know anybody who would be okay with this. When the check was mailed, I asked for it to be mailed to my place of business since I am not home during the day and do not have a trusted agent to sign for it. I received the tracking number and was told it was a direct customer signature, which meant only I could sign for it. Not only did the check not get signed for by me, but someone else not even associated with my office was allowed to sign for it and I had to go on a 'check-hunt' to figure out where the check was. The response I got from the law firm was 'sorry, please let me know how to rectify it'. The answer would've been to wire the funds, but no. I was supremely frustrated dealing with this issue and the amount of drama and stress it caused me was wholly unnecessary. I do not recommend this law firm if you are out of state or cannot go in person for any reason as they will make it very difficult.

Very professional staff

Brent Takach was referred to me when I was looking for a divorce attorney in the Columbia area. He turned out to be amazing. Not only was he extremely responsive to everything I needed and any questions that I had his fees were beyond reasonable. The main points of interest to me in my divorce, to include the custody of my son, were paramount to him as well and he came through on ensuring the safety of my 4 year old at the time. I would use him again and I give my strongest recommendation to him when it comes to handling one of the most sensitive and painstaking issues I have ever had to deal with.
