Dealt with this firm many years ago when Billy Sr was at the helm. Outstanding service and common courtesy. About 6 years ago I had occasion to deal with Mr McKenzie. Found him to be unbearably arrogant and rude. I’m an old goat and have made a few “life observations”. If you think you are the smartest guy in the room, it’s a near certainty that you are not. I suggest if you are reading this, you make the short trip across the lake to see Scott Palmer. He is much more learned and hospitable. A rare glimmer of hope in a gloomy and malignant justice system.

I will not recommend my dog to Steve McKenzie! Why because even my dog deserve respect! I used him years ago when he 1st became an attorney and he was excellent, humble, respectable, compassinate about his client and situation! He went above and beyond ! Today I can say he has lost it all! This man has no respect at all! He asked me what happened and then keep.cutting me off and trying to be a mind reader! I wanted to tell every detail Good, Bad, and ugly! If an attorney who is working for you already convinced you before hearing your story! Don't allow him to fire you fireally him! These ppl get out of character and lost the meaning of Moral and think they don't have to respect us! He looked down on me and hung the phone up in my face! My people please don't waste your money! We've been talked down on, look and give us the most horrific Disrespectful acts for a lifetime! There is competion who will respect you that FAR BETTER !!!!!

Terrible Law office and do not recommend to anyone very unprofessional

I had one singular consultation, back in October 2016, with Mr. McKenzie for a divorce. He asked for a very large retainer of $2500. After a couple of weeks, they were supposed to serve my husband to appear at court for child support. My husband went by the office twice too pick up the paperwork, so that he wouldn't be served in front of the children. But both times, it wasn't ready. So, after a week, the paralegal ended up sending a sheriff to my house anyways, against my wishes. This paperwork was very generic and did not have any of the specific information in it that I had already provided for that specified purpose. A couple of days later, I called off the divorce and asked the paralegal to tally up my bill, which I was told was only a couple of hours of work, and to cut me a check for a refund of my retainer that was unused. I was assured that i would get a check within a week. This was over 8 months ago! I have been calling weekly about my refund and Mr. McKenzie and his paralegal are NEVER in the office, so I leave messages. In addition to my divorce, I had also asked Mr. McKenzie to represent me in a car accident from November 2016. Each week, I would leave messages asking for my refund and the status of my lawsuit. Yesterday, September 24, 2016, was the first time since February that I spoke to a human and it was the paralegal Betsy. Betsy was argumentative, rude and unprofessional on the phone. At one point she even told me to shut up. Betsy claims that I would not be getting a refund because she used my money from my divorce case to pay for my car accident case and a Dr that they had wanted me to see but I was unable to because I had NO vehicle! I told her ahead of time that my one and only vehicle was totaled in the accident that they were supposed to be handling the lawsuit! I tried explaining that it was not possible nor legal for her to have paid any such bills when I had my insurance EOBs in my hand that stated exactly how much and when the insurance had already paid such doctors. And not only had insurance already paid, but that she had no right to move money between cases without consent! Betsy had the gall to say that she just assumed that I didn't want to bother with the lawsuit! I have insurance companies calling me everyday saying that they have never heard from McKenzi's lawfirm! After I was yelled at by the rudely unprofessional secretary Betsy, she had the nerve to hang up on me!! Now, I am fighting to get my $2500 back AND a Letter of Release so that I can hire a real law firm to handle my auto accident from almost a year ago! I have heard many others complain about this law firm too, about how they take a large retainer and barely do any work, if they work at all! I tell others my horror story so they can avoid this snake pit too. They are quick to take your money but don't do anything for it. And I totally recommend boycotting the nasty women who work in that office, who will yell at you, lie to you and talk about you behind your back all over town. Which, where we live in manning, is very small. Please keep me in your prayers about getting my money back! This year has been financially difficult on my family and this money could really help me to keep my lights on in my house and for my four children!
