Hiring Greg Cotton was probably the worst decision of my life! I was going through a divorce and he didn’t help me at all. The divorce lasted about a year and he really didn’t do anything to help me win what I was asking for. Then after my divorce he sued me and claimed I owe him money. I hired another attorney Michael Snell and he told me Greg committed fraud and was not suppose to charge me 10% interest which is illegal in Tennessee! Mr Snell also alleges Greg committed fraud by charging me interest upon interest. He counter sued Greg I’m just waiting on my day in court. Look up the case ID number if you don’t believe me CH-17-1239 it’s all public records.

The worst attorney ever! Does not return phone calls until after you leave multiple messages. Very poor follow-up. If/when he does return your call, will be rude, dismissive and rush you off the phone as if you're pestering him. Not at all what anyone would want or expect when being charged $250/hour for services. If there was a rating lower than poor, I would have selected that one. Spend your hard earned money with another attorney who will at least respect you as a paying client.

I hired Mr. Cotton to handle my divorce, wow what a big mistake. He dragged the case on for over a year, took all my money was rude as hell when you did talk to him. I mean this was a ruff time for me and he was all about the money. So if you read this don't hire this guy. Move on unless you want to be in the poor house. He will take half of what you have and give the other half to your ex. The worse experience I have ever had in my life. This lawyer doesn't care at all about you as a person. All he did was email and charge. I am still blowed away on how he charged so much with little results. Beware again don't hire this guy if you know what's good for you.

Mr. Cotton is extremely sensitive to any questions or suggestions concerning his work. I am of the mindset that when one hires an attorney that he/she is subject to the client's preferences and wishes concerning the case. This guy was rude when I tried to ask questions, as if I was insulting his intelligence. In our case, he did not treat us as intelligent individuals who wanted to be involved in making decisions in our highly sensitive matter. The fate of two little ones rested on this case, and it seemed that we had to consider his feelings above what we wanted to see happen. Also, he quoted us a total cost, plus and hourly wage, saying that he felt like he set the retainer high enough to cover everything that would be needed. Then, after the first hearing (which was continued after very little discussion so the other side could prepare) he sent a bill for $1500 more. He had not even argued our case at that point and we were already $1500 above and beyond what he said would likely cover the cost of the work. In our opinion, this guy is not professional, not caring, not a team player, not a man of integrity. We wasted our money and don't know how we will be able to afford to continue our efforts to help these little ones...
