Chris George and his team were amazing to work with. After the stress of going thru the disability system for several years on own truly wish we had called them earlier, they were quick to respond, and made sure to walk us thru and connect on terms we understood. Was so efficient and detailed appreciated Chris straightforward approach. Hopefully you will never need their services but in the event you do, I can’t recommend them enough.

Chris and his paralegal were nothing but kind, professional, and encouraging throughout the entire process. Fighting for disability can be frustrating, and at times, soul-crushing. After my husband was denied once and then turned down by a large, well-known disability firm, I convinced him to give Chris a try, and I'm SO glad we did. He was with us every step of the way--leading each appeal and the eventual favorable hearing. Even if my husband had lost his case in the end, this would absolutely be a 5-star review, still. Chris gave us hope, and for that, I'll forever be grateful.

We experienced an absolutely flawless transaction from start to finish with this office. We never had to repeat ourselves, make numerous phone calls, wait on return phone calls, provide paperwork more than once, or any of that typical back & forth junk that we had previously experienced at an injury law office. The Paralegal had all her ducks in a row with each conversation, which we have learned from other "larger" firms is a true blessing. She kept communications simple and efficient. Chris jumped right in on several occasions, making calls, texts & emails on his own, in order to keep the process flowing in a timely manner. He gets his hands dirty & we respect that. They make a great team. We highly recommend this firm, staffed with friendly, helpful people who are highly skilled in all aspects of disability law. Gallatin is lucky to have you. Jake & Jessica

I am so lucky I found Thomas Boyers to handle my felony drug case. He is absolutely a ''get the job done" kind of attorney and worth every dollar of his fee. I was more than impressed with the way he took control of the court the day of the trial. He's is truly a first class attorney in my book.

My name is Cody. I was facing 3 charges in Sumner County. After first consulting with Chad Ross, He told me exactly what I needed to do. On my first court date, He got me a continuous and as my final court date approached, He reached out to me to let me know a little more about my case. On my second and final court date, he quickly resolved my case and got me out of court quickly. He fought for me undeniably and even though my record is HORRIBLE, he was able to get 2 of the charges dropped and 1 reduced, no jail time. I received a short few months probation, reduced court cost, no probation fees, and I only have to call in to my probation officer once a month, I don't even have to report to the office. The kicker, this was pro bono, so imagine what Chad Ross will do for you if you hire Him. I'm grateful for Chad taking my case and fighting for me in open court like he did.

I’ve spoke to chad on evenings and weekends, very responsive. My case has been very eventful, he’s always been honest with me. I’m on an extremely tight budget, his costs were very fair by comparison and he worked with me on payment. He’s not the “feel good” then not deliver guy. He sets up honest expectations and has over delivered for me.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Gallatin, Tennessee?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
