If you have a need I highly recommend using Patti. She has fought for us and been a wonderful asset during a very long court battle.

Patty is the best ever. Everybody in the firm is awesome as well. She helped me on a couple of occasions and on a short notice. Her pricing was very reasonable and she understood my situations. She was a single mom for some time so she gets it. I have since moved away to Columbia, so it is about a 2-hour drive for me. However I will never choose anybody else.

They are professional, exceptional, and very good at what they do. I would not change a thing. They have become my family. If I could I would give them 10 stars.

We were referred to see Patti by NUMEROUS people in sumner county. We are so glad we did. Quick scheduling for consult, and Patti got started on our case immediately. They have a nice online portal to utilize, and extra staff that help keep us updated and respond within reasonable time (day of or next business day). Garner Law Firm was quick to get my ex ready to serve (and server company was also great and efficient), and moved right along the process. I have waited 7 years for this, my husband who has adopted my daughter has waited 4. Patti and staff took all my worry away, and explained everything to us step by step and along the way. while ours was a simple case, and not a battle, we have heard great things and success with her being on others side. Literally was told “oh, Patti??? You don’t have a thing to worry about. When other opposing attorneys hear her name, they think ‘oh crap’.”
If you want to have a peace of mind, to move forward with life, and have someone who will fight for you, (and make your ex’s lawyer sweat), you want Patti. So glad ours wasn’t a battle and a simple case, but we hired her for that reason just in case.
Forever will we remember Patti and others Garner Law for giving us that peace we deserve, and the support along the way.
Divorce, child custody, or in my case step-parent adoption, and anything else in the law, you know who to call.

I have had nothing but problems in “working with” this company.
First, they couldn’t get my ex-husband served. He had to have his lawyer request the documents from the courts just to get served. I gave the Patti Garner office his name, phone numbers, our address (we were still living together at the time that I filed), his work address, and pictures of his work vehicle including license plate number. He wasn’t in hiding, and yet they couldn’t get him served. This added extra stress to the situation.
My ex-husband has been mining cryptocurrency, and the office couldn’t find a single professional on this matter, which is a bit shocking in today’s world. I had to agree with my ex-husband to change the divorce from contested to non-contested and forego any discovery surrounding the cryptocurrency as it was dragging out our divorce proceedings and creating more tension and stress.
When it came time to sign the final papers that would be submitted to his lawyer and then to the courts, my lawyer, Jessica, had me sign in an incorrect location (a spot reserved for the notary). I questioned her on this and she further requested that I sign where she asked. I did so, and my ex-husband’s lawyer requested that that form be resubmitted with signatures in appropriate places. This created even more tension and stress, and resulted in more time being wasted by me having to revisit the office to resign. As I was reviewing the original documents to ensure my signatures and initials were indeed in all the correct places, I discovered TWO more places that required my initials. Had I not caught this, it would have created even more delays and wasted time.
I visited the Social Security Administration today to change my last name back, and it was discovered that there was nothing in my divorce papers that stated I would be allowed to do so. I contacted Patti Garner’s office, and the paralegal, Angela, informed me that nothing was notated about this on my intake form - a form that was filled out at least 3 or 4 months before the filing of the papers. The intake form merely asked if I wished to change my name back. At the time I was undecided, so I didn’t write in anything. Having never been divorced before, I had no idea that this would be something that would have to be noted in the court paperwork and something I would need to change my last name. And there was NEVER any further conversation surrounding this. Jessica and Angela never inquired about this again when drafting up the court paperwork, as they would have known this would be needed if I decided I wanted to. Getting this added to my documents would involve submitting another form to the court to be notarized. Angela stated that would incur an additional charge.
The Patti Garner law firm’s policy is written so that they nickel and dime you out of money in any way that they can. My divorce was changed from contested to non-contested, which costs significantly less, and they wouldn’t reimburse any part of it. They clearly made a substantial profit on my change of type of divorce, yet sent me a bill for copy and mail charges and now want me to pay for the ability for me to change my name even though they didn’t discuss this with me when it came time to draft my court documents.
This law firm is not worth the money for the hassle of working with them.
