I honestly have no idea where I would be today if it wasn’t for this AMAZING firm!!!! There is no amount of words that can express how Thankful I am that they had my back through the entire process!!!!! I would highly recommend this AMAZING firm to anyone needing an attorney!!!! I had an amazing experience with Held Law Firm! I wanted to find a firm who could help me obtain a quick, affordable divorce and Held provided just that. All members of their team were extremely responsive and informative. Never did I feel out of the loop or confused and I always felt comfortable asking questions of any kind. I would absolutely recommend Held Law Firm.

The legal representation I received exceeded my expectations. While my divorce was uncontested there were a few items that were somewhat complex. Melanie Hogg was extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of the process. I felt like she had my back the entire time. We did not always agree on on actions to take during the process but she was always very clear why she recommended such actions. But she always went with what I desired. At no time did anyone at the firm take any action on my behalf without first having a conversation with me and getting my approval. While I hope I never have to go through a divorce again, I know I'd gladly seek their assistance again. In fact, if I ever need any kind of representation in the future I will first seek their guidance. I definitely highly recommend this firm to anyone seeking assistance.

I would not recommend Held Law Firm, and more specifically, attorney Melanie Hogg. I worked with Mrs. Hogg in early 2020 to draft a prenuptial agreement for my fiancée and I. The experience that I had was miserable, costly and frustrating. While I did find Mrs. Hogg to be knowledgeable, the process of working with her and Held was excruciating and stressful. Rather than providing personal care and attentiveness, I quickly found that Mrs. Hogg and Held Law Firm were interested in collecting as many billable hours as possible. Each email sent to me was, at least, $30. And, Mrs. Hogg sent a number of unnecessary emails that did not advance our prenup what-so-ever. In addition, I was charged $120 for a “quick, in passing” conversation with an attorney who was, in no way, affiliated with our case. I found Mrs. Hogg’s written spelling and grammar to be particularly poor, and again, very costly to me. Upon presenting her first draft of our prenup, she misspelled a multitude of words — including many of which were provided to her and correctly spelled for her including the word “exhibit” which she also misspelled on her second draft. She, and Held, then proceeded to bill me for correcting these spelling and grammatical errors. I found that Mrs. Hogg and Held were more concerned with collecting billable hours than they were representing my best interest. I am very disappointed in both my experience and their lack of care, concern and effort.

They were knowledgeable, considerate, and very professional.

When I first met Margaret Held and her staff I knew I was at the right place. She is fierce! She will fight for you and win. I am so grateful to her because now I have a signed court order clearly defining visitation with my grandchild, which had previously been denied. I believe that without Margaret this would not have happened. Thank you, Margaret, for being such an amazing, caring person.

Melanie and her team made a stressful process so easy and I can’t express enough how much that means to me. Very professional, extremely reasonable with fees, and most of all they truly care about their clients. I highly recommend!

Overall, I feel like Margaret and all the lawyers I met at Held Law firm are professional and very knowledgeable about divorce law. I was very satisfied with the professionalism, and timeliness of all appointments both in the office and court filings and court appointments. My assigned counsel went above and beyond trying to negotiate with opposing counsel on more than one occasion. For this, I am grateful. A couple things I feel Held Law firm could improve are; aggressively defending your positions to apposing counsel and billing. I felt during the overall process, opposing counsel was more aggressive and things seemed to always be “rounded” to their favor. I feel if my counsel was more aggressive in defending my stance I could have had a more favorable outcome on some of the terms. The opposing counsel in my case charged a flat rate while I was charged hourly for every email, phone call or any communication at all. If I had a legal question about my case I had to balance that with, is it worth spending $100 to ask? It put tremendous pressure on me financially while I didn’t feel like I had adequate access to legal expertise. In the end, I spent two and a half times more in legal fees than my ex did. I did not feel that was right. I also spent considerably more than the originally estimated cost.
