Ram (Ramasamy Krishnan) helped me in filing I-485 Adjustment Of Status with I-140 EB2 => EB3 category. He took care of everything from day one till end of the process. He is very knowledgeable as an immigration attorney. I got his reference from one of my friend but very happy to work with him. No need to call him often. Just send emails which he responses very quickly. You can still call him in case of needed situation otherwise you get answers in email quickly. I heard he had many years experience working with many clients helping them towards their goal of becoming permanent residents of the US. He will give you straight answers to your questions and will guide your steps in the process. I strongly recommend him for your immigration needs...

Attorney Ramasamy Krishnan has great knowledge and experience in EB1 or NIW immigration petitions, I had great experience recently, there are many attorneys who refuse to take the challenge when the beneficiary has low citation, but attorney Ramasamy Krishnan has done great job for me in getting approval when low citation was challenged for international acclaim. I highly recommend him for EB1 or NIW petitions, he is also very prompt in responses and always reachable.

I worked with Mr.Krishnan for filing my EB1a and NIW petitions. The best asset that he has is an immense knowledge of immigration requirements and what works in the real world. USCIS is a tough maze to navigate, but with Mr.Krishnan's proven methods both my petitions were approved in about 100 days. I strongly recommend using his services especially if you are from India .

I had the worst imaginable experience with this lawyer! Never ever in your dreams think about working with him! Talks big and calls regularly before starting case....and then disappears from the face of earth! He cares about your money not your case...Do yourself a favor and file yourself or find someone else!

I recommend Ed Anderson without hesitation. Our family started my daughter’s disability case before Covid 19. Due to long delays and denials, we sought the assistance of Mr. Anderson. He immediately lifted our stress. Mr. Anderson filed the appropriate paperwork quickly and answered our phone calls, emails, and requests sooner than any other attorney we have dealt with previously. Mr. Anderson explained the paperwork, the process, and court hearing which relieved our concerns. We never felt alone. The court hearing went smoothly. Without Mr. Anderson’s appearance at the hearing, I know my daughter’s case would not have been approved. If you have a disability case, please contact Mr. Anderson and let him handle the case. You will not be disappointed.

The reason Ed Anderson’s reviews are so positive and encouraging is due to the simple fact that he is absolutely the best of the best. Ed is truly a considerate attorney, never making me feel uncomfortable about my diseases. Ed’s presentation of my medical and work documents were exceptionally well structured. I have to mention that the entire office works closely together in regard to acquiring documentation, and Dana, the paralegal I have been working with is incredible. I will end with my sincere recommendation to anyone looking for help with their disability questions. Ed Anderson, and his team at Kenneth Miller Law and Associates, are nothing short of spectacular.

I consulted with Mr. Myers amidst a confusing and stressful settlement process following an auto accident. He was exceedingly generous in sharing his time, expertise, and understanding of the law. I think it speaks particularly highly of him that in my case he advised against further legal action, a recommendation that he explained clearly and compassionately. Ultimately, thanks to him I was able to spare myself needless stress and financial expense by resolving the matter myself. If I ever find myself in a similar situation, his will be the first number I call. I strongly recommend his services to anyone in need of representation or legal guidance in his practice areas.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Knoxville, Tennessee?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
