I found myself in desperate need of consultation of legal advice for representation of my legal age daughter with severe disabilities. My name is Christal Hill and I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl at twenty-six weeks gestational almost twenty years ago. I have been her primary care giver ever since then. Due to her prematurity my daughter suffered a brain bleed which caused cyst on her brain which caused her to be diagnosed with severe Cerebral Palsy and Mental Retardation. My daughter is Quadriplegic and confined to a bed with limited time to a wheelchair and outdoor life. I was a fulltime nurse before giving birth to my daughter and married. When my daughter was two years ld my husband and his family decided that they were embarrassed by her disabilities and chose to no longer want to partake in her life, emotionally, financially, physically etc. I come from a small town and a small family with a great love and an even greater love of support and appreciation of starting over. I went back to school while staying at home with my child and earned my BA in Psychology and I am now working on my Masters. During this time my child become of adult age and I needed to become Conservator. I did not have the finances to do so. I applied for aid at the University of Tennessee and this is where I met my future friend and lifelong attorney, Matt. Matt helped me to achieve the legal requirements to become my daughters voice and along the way gave me the strength to achieve so much more.
